hi joe17. may i give u some sugestions.it's never late to do something new.my aunt went to nursing school when she was 40 y.o.,& pass her nclex @ 43 y.o.. now she is working in sedars .
i'm also 3rd time time taker(planning to take nclex in june) & i always tell myself that i'm not gonna stop, until i pass. i'm also have kids school age & i know thats it hard. but plz never never never give up.it's alwais a light thats waiting for u , all u have to do to keep going.trust in god power & u'll make it.
for study i would sugest: 1st read sunders comprehansive book. it 'll help u brushup what u learned in nursing school. i took a kaplan class it didn't work 4 me, but it's just me, cuz i know many people that liked it. the kaplan book is good , but the quest. no( again 4 me). i would also recommend to do 4000 quest cd & 3500(3500 u can find @ http://nursing.slcc.edu/nclexrn3500/mainmenu.do;jsessionid=e6ebd27a623b60355632742569c6e8e2). also i like lacharity book (priotarization, deligation ).and i posted some notes in this forum, also if u do a little surch for random facts, they have really good stuff. good 2 u.think positive.study, exersise & u'll be successesful ;)best of luck
hi NEVER STOP SMILING..thank u so much for ur kind words..its so nice to hear some faith it gives me more motivation to study hard.i will definately embrace ur advice..u sounds a very good person and i wish i can pay u back with ur kind words,,well hopefully when i pass nclex ill buy u a lunch,,,lol...im doing this for my kids they r young(6 and 4) and i will not let them suffer the childhood hardship that i endured ,,so until im allowed to take the exam i will keep trying,, thou it takes me almost 6 yrs to try and fight my depression and get a sense to my self...working here in UK will not give them a good life..its getting harder and harder for nurses here........God Bless..please keep in touch..

hello shiloh_12 .i know how it feels, i'm retaking in june 3-rd time( 1 st & 2nd time computer stopped @ 265:uhoh3:).but i'm glad that u didn't give up.keep going.
it takes 45 days to reapply. the letter will notify u, when u can retake it. u need to pay $75to born( again),& then waith 4 letter from the board, which will say , that u have 1 year to register( pay $200 to pearsonvue), & 1 year from ur registration date to take an nclex. hope my information will help. chin up & good luck.
hello neverstopsmiling...thanks for your time in responding to my post. i just checked it on the ca. bon website and the application fee went up it's now $150. $200 for registration at pearson vue and $75 for fingerprinting again because last time i had my fingerprint(live scan) i have no ss# so i'm going to do fingerprinting again. oh well...but i'm not gonna give up. i think the real failure is when you stop taking it and quit. anyways, best of luck to you...i hope you pass it. keep us posted. god bless!
