I am scheduled mid June for the NCLEX-RN. I worked as an RN over 20 years ago and found out if I pass the test I can get my RN back (refresher course recommended). I've forgotten so much and there is a lot that is new to me also. I'm having trouble remembering and any mnemonic helps I can find I am happily using. I need much content review and am using Saunders, but it's soooo lengthy . . . after a month I took a week break and have started up again. I need a bit of variety. I also did the Kaplan—Strategies, Practice, Review, and will go back and do the CD questions at some point later on before the test. I've done some in LaCharity and will incorporate that later on as well. I know that a few weeks prior to the test I'm going to do mainly questions and rationales, hoping to have content down by then. The way I am doing Saunders is: study the text in each chapter and highlight the most important points I need to remember, answer chapter questions, give myself a percentage grade, and write notes about what I missed (for me, writing things down helps me remember). Then I review the text again and move on.

I appreciate all the help I'm finding at allnurses.com! Thanks for doing this study help.

Hello everyone

I hope the study is going well for all.

I've just had a quick question here for anyone who can answer. I'm a Canadian graduate Rn, currently practice in Canada and planing to write my NCLEX. When I wrote my RN in exam in Canada, believe it or not, the questions I got in the exam were nothing even close to what I prepared myself for according to study guides. We got A LOT of questions on community and health promotion stuff. Now that I'm preparing myself for NCLEX, I'm wondering if any one knows who in detail it's going to be. I use Kaplan and Saunders for now.

Thanks everyone and good luck studying.

hey i just thought i would pass along this new site that i used before i took my test and it really helped me! its www.nclex-exam.com you can see some questions for free which is what i did at first and then i realized the site was pretty legit and i decided to go ahead and purchase the best package.

it was well worth it to me, and i recommend that you take a look at it also!

I passed my first try so im pretty glad i tried that site.

congrates on passing and this site.

Hey Everyone,

I haven't scheduled my exam date quite yet, but I was shooting to take it the end of June or first week in July.

This is my study plan...

APRIL - Saunder's 4th ed. - Im currently reading front to back, chapter by chapter, answering each chapter quiz, and making notecards for each chapter (about 2-3 chap's per day). This is harder than I thought it would be but content is my weakness so I'm trying to be as thorough as possible with this one.

MID-MAY - Kaplan Classroom Anywhere - It includes 4 days of live online classes, then I will go through the content review book, the Qtrainers and Qbank questions.

Somtime in JUNE/JULY - Lacharity - Im going to read this one front to back, chapter by chapter, answer all case studies and maybe do more notecards.

After all that I'll turn my attention to the ExamCram CramSheet and all the mnemonics I've found on this sight.

I also have Exam Cram Practice Questions 2nd ed., and Nclex3500 if I ever run out of questions to answer.

If you have any other suggestions please let me know. Thanks in advance

Hi Future RN's :)

I wanna join the forum as well. I need a bit of encouragement and advices from all of you (it's really hard to study all by your self without anyone to talk to and to share your thoughts to)

I was gonna take my Nclex Rn exam last month but I havta move it coz I can tell I am not 100% ready and confident to take it again for the second time. I have to make sure when I face that exam again, I am gonna PASS! :)

I wanna know how everybody is doing? Coz lately I've been out of track with my study plan coz I did some important matter.. And been so lazy to study all these things all over again.

I did the Saunder's 5th Edition, Kaplan 2010-2011, and the Lacharity, and also if I'm too lazy to open up a book, I do practice questions using the Iphone App that i purchased for $2.99. :) it is somewhat a cool application coz I could practice and at the same time watch TV or take care of my kiddo..

Goodluck to all of US.. God Bless!
