NCLEX RN GONE BAD

Published

I just took my nclex rn today and I'm 100% positive I failed. I got the max 265 by question 140 i was done.

How long do you have to wait to Retake RN Nclex in Texas??? What should I do different

I feel like I don't know what I'm doing or maybe I shouldn't be doing this. All my other friends got the min 75. I;m so upset with myself.

HELP!!!:crying2:

did u have to retake it? what should i do diff?

No- I am sorry I passed. A girl from my class failed so I was advising you from what she told me. :( I believe they will mail you something soon with areas that you need to improve.

I am sorry I can't be help!

How much did you study? What book/s did you use? Maybe try a review class like Kaplan or a different one. I know the girl from my class signed up for a review class and she liked it. She is retesting this week.

did you have to retake it?

Sorry if I wasn't clear... I passed the first time in February... I am starting my 1st RN job tomorrow actually.

I don't have any first hand advice to share, just what I wrote about the classmate I know who didn't pass the first time. :(

****Edit*******Ahhhhh..... You weren't talking to me! Gotcha!! :)

@rnlovesherpharmd did you have to retake it?

The Pearson Vue Trick seems to be pretty accurate, so unfortunately you probably did fail -- but as someone else said, this is not the end of the world, you can take it again. Check the website for the TX BRN to find out how soon you can retake the exam. In some states it's 45 days but in others it's 90 days.

The good news about getting 265 questions is that you must have been close to the "pass" line, so it may not take much to get yourself over that line next time. I used the Mosby flash cards plus a couple different NCLEX study guides -- did as many practice questions as I could stand to do, read the rationale for what was the "best" answer. I only reviewed content for those topics that I seemed to be getting wrong repeatedly. I hear that if you're getting at least 60% correct on practice exams, you should pass the NCLEX.

Good luck!

There is so much help on this site! I haven't taken the NCLEX yet -- studying away, but check it out.

I'm using Lacharity/Exam Cram/Kaplan strategies/Kaplan tests I found online/Nclex 3500....a lot. Just doing it one at a time.

I don't have money for a course so hopefully this will be enough!

Good luck! I'm petrified myself.

I haven't taken it yet, but if you failed I would say study differently this time. If you did Questions before this time do more content less questions and vis versa.

So sorry this happened. Next time don't be too focused on whether you get to 75 questions. I freaked out when I went past 100 questions. I took Hurst Review and I found it to be helpful. Marlene simplifies topics so you can remember. Also, ask yourself why questions when studying. You got through nursing school, you will get through this too. Just do a search on this site on what other people did to pass and you will find that you are not alone. Lots of luck to you!

Does this "Pearson Vue trick" work for all states? I'm curious now :)

There is a whole thread on this in the student section- A poll and comments from people...... I believe it is accurate due to a glitch in the pearson website......

I know it worked for me and I found out early I passed even though I was skeptical....

don't lose hope leo82! a lot of people fail NCLEX.. just do your best next time. this is not the end of the world! you can do it the second time around! :D
