Nclex RN fail

Published

So I took my Nclex yesterday after studying for 10 weeks doing Kaplan and a few Nclex books. I got 265 questions lots of SATA and I did the PVT and got the CC page so I know I failed. Now what to do feeling down. I thought I knew enough to pass. I am already a LPN. Now how do you pick you self up and start again....

Well I'm not given up. I paid the 200. To Pearsonvue and sent out my application again with 80. To retest. September 1st can't come soon enough

If I could give any advice: Uworld, UWorld, UWorld. So far every person who used UWorld in my cohort has passed their NCLEX in 75 questions (including me). Really prepares you for the NCLEX.

I'm glad you will be doing UWORLD this time around.I used it and it was VERY helpful.Forget about the past and just stay focused and you'll be fine cos you got this.

Ty for the encouragement Marisa2000

So I got my report in mail today I was near passing level in every category. Could of been worse I guess

Oh Lisa Im so sorry. i know it is hard what youre going through. But again, dont give up. I know nothing about any resources all I practice doing is to answer questions, SAUNDERS 6th edition Q&A was the only reference I used. there's rationales and it comes with a site where u can create to practice more questions other than the book, told myself thats the 64$ well spent and I passed. Hang in there. And remember to keep praying You got this next time!

Hey Lisa let me just give you a brief description on my journey. So I graduate high school end up with a 14 on my ACT... My friends were all scoring in the 20s and I don't have a learning disability or anything. Took it again got near the same school. Rough thing for a 17-18 year old to go through. I went to various technical colleges and University's to take remedials. Did that and then applied for LPN school, basically flunked out of it (I knew I wasn't ready for nursing at this time) this was 2010sh. I then went through a few different majors, and in 2014 decided I want and need to be an RN. Dusted myself off applied for an RN program took the entrance exam (barely good enough to get in) and busted my bum learning all I could. End of semester 1 PASSED took the first HESI in the 600s.... teachers were encouraging 2nd semester PASSED and got like a 580 on that HESI... teachers still encouraging. 3rd semester passed and really started falling love with nursing. I forget what I got on the 3rd semester HESI, but probably not good. Last semester capstone goes great classes go great and then the first exit HESI. 690... Feeling pretty low about that I go and talk to my motivational teacher that helped me through a lot of hardships. She told me study hard for the 2nd exit HESI (I did) and got a 480 on my last HESI worst in the class this was all during graduation week and I felt like such a failure. Got my ATT and registered for it about 2sh months after. For those 2 months I got UWolrd,(UWorld is the best it just is) NCSBN learningext, a huge Saunders book that I lightly browsed now n then, NCLEX Mastery app, and really focused on becoming more positive. It was tough because of my previous experiences with standardized tests even though I kept giving myself positive affirmations, and study ALOT I still had doubts. Then July 6th rolls around. Testing site is about an hour away. Get up 3 hours prior. Drive there listening to (Prince my pump up you can do this music.) Get to the site people are all just as nervous which eased my fears for some reason. Got in the testing site, sat at the computer and after 95 questions it shut off. I thought I failed but oddly enough took solace that it didn't shut off at 75 and thinking I got them all wrong. I checked my BON the morning after as I heard they post it at 8:01AM. Checked 8:01AM nothing then checked at 8:05AM and boom a little green dot with a check mark that said PASSED. Life is all about trial and error. Success and failures. You can do this you just have to control the test and not let it control you! Good luck!

Thanks for all the encouragement guys. I'm waiting for my ATT now so. Can schedule my appointment for September. I just started uworld did around 400 questions only averaging a 47 percent. I know I have a long way to go. Hope to see those percentages go up. I still have Kaplan also. I think I'm going to full is on uworld and if I have time I will do kaplan

Its okay, Hope you pass this time.I took exam 36 hours ago.Tried registering again and it says" our record indicates..."Waiting for good news in 12 hours. I couldn't sleep a day before exam and still can't sleep. So frustrating 😟

Sounds like you passed. Congrats. It's so stressful

think you passed good luck!
