NCLEX RN Exam! HELP! (May 2017)

Hello Everybody!

I'm testing NCLEX RN Exam at the end of May. I'm focusing on UWORLD as the rationales are really on point! I also have Saunders, LaCharity and other resources but I prefer Uworld and I use it most times. My problem is, I'm only scoring about 51.2% in the Uworld Qbank (did not answer yet the incorrect ones) with 1,300 more questions left. I have 26 days to go to finish the entire Qbank. I'm also working at the same time as a CNA and reduced my hours to part-time now. Did any of you pass with an average or below average score in Uworld? How was it?

I'm just so nervous with my scores. I feel like I still have a lot to learn. I would really appreciate your comments esp those who took the exam already and only used Uworld as their resources.

How did the NCLEX compare to uWorld??

It was the same set up as Uworld. However, the questions are not the same as Uworld of course. There are maybe a few questions that I have encountered in Uworld. I pass my test at 265 questions using only Uworld & prayer. í ½í¸‚

@KTJ0408 Did you end up passing? I scored a 72 on the first assessment but just took the second assessment and got a 64 so now I'm nervous. I test 6/20.

I read a lot of these forums while studying and they really helped me know what to expect, so I promised myself I would share my experience when I took my exam. I took the exam on July 10th and I passed in 75 questions!

I graduated mid-May and gave myself a month off to have fun and enjoy my summer. I started studying mid-June by ordering the Saunders book and getting a 1 month subscription to U World. I started doing the Saunders chapters based on the personalized study calendar they give you, but I felt like it was taking far too long to get through a chapter (the book has a lot of information on it, some of which I didn't think you really need to know for the exam). Instead of going through every chapter, I skimmed through some the priority nursing actions throughout the book and carefully read only the topics I was having trouble with. For me, that was maternity and endocrine.

U World was my main study tool. I'd create exams in "tutor" mode with every subject mixed together, just like the NCLEX. I would carefully go through every rationale (even the ones I got right). I took notes on concepts I was having trouble remembering and I made sure I took notes on every single pharm-related rationale because pharm is hard to memorize (side note- make a note of common toxicity signs with vancomycin, lithium, digoxin, and phenytoin. Also make a note of common drugs that can't be taken together). The week before my test, I took a few 75 question timed tests from the Q-Bank and I also took the two predictor self-assessments. By the end, I had completed a little over 900 questions from the Q-Bank.

To give you a sense of where I was scoring, I took the HESI without preparing in April and got an 870 (my school didn't want us to study because they wanted the HESI report to guide how we studied after graduation). I started out on U-World scoring low 50s with the occasional mid-40s. By the end, I had a 66% on the Q-Bank which was the 91st percentile. On the predictor exams, I scored a 77% in the 97th percentile, which was a "very likely" pass on both the exams.

I was so nervous while studying, but it all works out! If you go on the NCSBN website, you'll see that ~85% of people pass the first time, so chances are you'll pass! I largely credit my passing to U-World. It made me feel so comfortable and confident while taking the test. Good luck. You can do it!

I just took my NClex on 28th of April.

I just use UWorld and priority and delegation by la charity. I was doing fine on the exams averaging 60-70% on uworld. I really thought I was prepared for the exam. but when I sat on the exam, as I compare, Uworld questions was in deed difficult. but on the exam Nclex question was a lot different. Question was just asked on a basic concept but the choices given can be a lot more difficult which will make yoy think if the statement given was correct. I got a lot of SATA and some evidence base practice that was not even introduced on uworld...

Hey all. I'm looking for a good review class in the South FL area. Took my last nclex early this year but didn't pass. I was disappointed after all that studying so I didn't do anything. I'm ready now but need a really good review even a tutor. Could someone please help me out.

Hi nurses!

The NCLEX is challenging and because it determines whether or not you can be a nurse in North America, we all need to go through this at least once. I just want to remind you all, you can definitely do it!!!!! I wrote my exam in 2016 and ever since I passed I always felt the need to share my experience.
