NCLEX-RN in 10 Days

Published

I graduated from college two weeks ago, and I am preparing to take my NCLEX-RN in 10 days. I have been studying everyday for about 2-3 hours, trying to do around 150 questions a day. The resources I have been using include: Saunder's (yellow book), Kaplan Strategies and Review Book 2012-2013, and PDA by Lachrity. I chose not to do the Kaplan course because I figured I had enough resources to use at home, but I have been using the Q Trainers that are available online. Through the online Q Trainers, my scores so far have been:

QT1- 72%

QT2-74%

QT3- 66%

QT4- 68%

We were also required to take an exit Hesi through school our last semester, which I scored a 997 on. I am starting to get really nervous thinking that I am not prepared enough, and have been thinking about possibly purchasing NCSBN for my last week of studying, but I don't want to waste money.

Do you think the NCSBN program is really worth it? Or will I be fine with my scores and resources I am currently using?

Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!

I have a few friends that just passed the NCLEX this week. It sounds like you are doing exactly what they did, also, one of my friends failed her first 2 Hesi Exits. So, it seems like you are looking good. My other friend said that the NCLEX was easier than the second HESI exit. Question, where did you find the question trainers online? Link please??? Good luck to you!

Ok! I am just so nervous! I feel like I have been doing so many questions, but I don't know which of my resources will be the most helpful. As for the Q Trainers, I just googled them and it was the first link that popped up!

Sounds like you're doing really good. Im currently enrolled in the NCSBN 3 week course but I find it to be information overload. I take my NCLEX in 2 weeks, soI'm ffocusing mainly on my Hurst Review materials, Kaplan QBank and trainers, Saunders and HESI book. We were told that if we score above 60% on the Trainers, we were ready for NCLEX. At the moment, I'm just reviewing my weak areas, drugs, random diagnostic tests and questions.

@kilo, do the questions in the NCSBN course...REALLY prepares you for the NCLEX...more important to do those questions more than the review...just FYI.

I just found out today that I passed the NCLEX RN!!! wahooooo! I studied using the PDA by LaCharity and reviewing the Hurst review book someone gave me (they took the course live last year). I practiced questions anywhere I could find them including iphone apps: Lipincott & Saunder's mobile Q's. I can tell you that I strongly believe the LaCharity book helped me the MOST during the NCLEX. Please be sure to review each and every question. I went through the book twice! You will be glad you did! ;) Good luck! You will do great!

Thanks to both of you for the info. Congrats also

Thank you for the information. I am completing all of the questions from the PDA book now, and I also chose to purchase NCSBN.

@Ladyfree28- did you do all the questions from NCSBN?
