NCLEX-RN in 10 Days
Sounds like you're doing really good. Im currently enrolled in the NCSBN 3 week course but I find it to be information overload. I take my NCLEX in 2 weeks, soI'm ffocusing mainly on my Hurst Review materials, Kaplan QBank and trainers, Saunders and HESI book. We were told that if we score above 60% on the Trainers, we were ready for NCLEX. At the moment, I'm just reviewing my weak areas, drugs, random diagnostic tests and questions.

Army AECP
mrsksway Don't forget to contact Austin Peay University and Old Dominion. I know they are willing to send you a conditional acceptance letter if you meet their requirements. Alcorn State University sent me an acceptance letter pretty early, so I was able to send that in just before my board, so make sure you send whatever you get from a school in ASAP to strengthen your packet.

Army AECP
shmegan20, I can try to assist you as best I can, but I know some of the requirements have changed since I was accepted. I think It might be too late to submit your 2013 packet. I think the deadline was 1 March 2012.

Army AECP
mrsksway, I think my Army GPA was a 2.8 or a 2.9, can't remember, but for the schools that I applied to it averaged between a 3.0-3.4. Having acceptance letters before the board is what helped me get selected I think. As far as residency, most universities allow military members to claim residency if they are stationed near there. The local ROTC might be able to help, but I would say work with the admissions/bursars office.

How competitive is UAH's nursing school?
I'm a 2nd semester student at UAH, and what the previous poster said about the 3.0 GPA is true. As long as you have your prereqs done, you stand a great chance of getting in. My class consists of students from all over, not just UAH. The only advantage those who completed prereqs at UAH have over me is that they are familiar with the University, already know other students (helps with forming study groups), and well, that's about it. Once you get in, be ready because if you are not organized and mentally prepared, you will be overwhelmed.

Yep, that is correct. Congrats to those who were selected. The easy part is over. Good luck.

Time frame until AECP orders
Matt, I have a friend who's graduating this summer from, I'll check with him to see if he's gotten any word yet on orders. I have a question for you...I'm waiting to receive my orders to head to school this fall...was there some place you had to go to get your orders to report to school?

Army reserve question
Cpez I'm not sure how the Reservist do their promotions, but in the Active 1LTs get promoted to CPT in around 1.5 years... I'm sure it takes longer in the reserves. Our recruiters are not the best, so you have to do a lot of research on your own. Have you looked into the Uniformed Public Health Service (google it)? With your education and work experience, I'm sure you can come in at a better pay grade

Bio 201 at Rio Salado-trying to prepare for Midterm!
I'm in the same course. The professor isn't helpful at all. I've been focusing on the course objectives. I have a funny feeling that some of the questions from our quizzes will show up there along with labs and additional questions from the games and flash cards.
