I found out last week that I failed the NCLEX. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for review classes or recomendations on reviews such as hurst, kaplan, etc. any advice would be great!

My recommendation is that if you are to do the Kaplan course, to do the LIVE class not the online. You get more out of the LIVE class AND the classes help you stay on track with their schedule.
Books to use: Saunders Q&A and Exam Cram
Do 50-150 questions a day, review the rationales for right and wrong answers. Memorize lab values and med classifications.
When you get the brown envelope entailing your weak and strong areas, focus mainly on your weak but don't forget the strong.
Hope this helps!

online ncsbn helps . mosby for questions . main thing focus on one reviewer then other reviewers for study questions and rationale only. before you take the test , study for a minimum of two months , everyday for 8 hours , rest in between . then be honest to yourself if ur ready , then take it , if not , resched

avoid what you think made you fail it the first time you took it (e.g. watching tv instead of studying, surfing the net instead of answering Q&A on CD rom, etc). focus on your weak points, DON'T JUST STUDY--UNDERSTAND your concept. don't over do anything. set aside time for you to study in a day and keep it that way until your next exam date..at least practice answering 100 questions daily.
and lastly, relax..step back and look at the bigger picture..whatever the outcome of your next test will be, is the by-product of your efforts today. meaning, if you wanna pass it next time, make an effort to study harder than you used to..
i wish you all the best..

I am sorry to hear that! I know that feeling!!! Listen its not the end of the world give your self time to grieve. When you feel honestly ready to start back studying. You wanna study smart not so much harder. You have to take advantage of your time. Your weak areas is very important that you must conquer but dont forget about your strong. Nclex 3500 or nclex 4000 are great but you need to know content as well. Excram is excellent as well. I would say try hurst review made me understand content if thats your weak area. You need one solid review and then alots of questions. I know you can do it! I say give your self good two months to review sit for boards. dont rush you have to feel ready!

I took both Hurst Review & Kaplan Qbank and also had the Kaplan Strategies book.. I really liked the Kaplan Qbank because it gave me good questions plus I studied the rationales of every question and learned alot of content from it as well. Hurst Review was okay as well. They simplified content and had a lot of good info on their 5th day CD. Overall, I liked Kaplan Qbank better.
