Hey guys, I have a simple/stupid question. I recently took my NCLEX in CA. We don't have quick results here, so I just want to make sure if I passed or not.
I took the exam on 3/26, and my name/license # popped up on the board of registered nursing website two days later. Does this mean I for sure passed? They wouldn't give you a license number if you didn't pass right? Sorry in a weird denial state at the moment.

Pearson Vue submits results to the BoN who determines licensing eligibility. BoN is a higher authority did licensing. If the BoN posted an active nursing license, not only did you pass but congratulations you are now a licensed nurse!!
I know someone who passed the NCLEX but was not issued a license (pesky pending felony charge after applying that the candidate failed to notify the BoN in a timely fashion). Passing the NCLEX is but a single step in the licensing process
Ah I see. Thank you for your explanation. Sorry, I wasn't sure how these things were suppose to work.

Ha! I was the same way. I checked the BON the day after I took boards and there my name was. I knew that meant I passed but I probably checked 15 times that day to make sure it wasn't really a mistake and that it hadn't disappeared:)

Congrats, RN! A license number means you passed!
