Early on in nursing school (I have my BSN), I had problems with priority questions. One instructor told me "Remember your ABC's...airway, breathing, circulation." And that was all I needed because typically, (in my experience and recollection), those are what you see in most priority questions. If any one of those are in the multiple choice answers, then that is the likely answer. If more than one appears in the answer, then it goes in ABC order for priorizing.

I would follow the advice of JoMark. Also try reading and studying the book by Linda LaCharity on prioritization.

Yep, ABC & D (Documentaion) is how you will go, but before you do that figure out is there a psycosocail answer in the choices. Pain is psycosocial (90%) for NCLEX and for 90% of the time that is the answer you will throw out. Then figure out if the is an assessment or an implimentaion in the choices. If they are all one or another then use Maslow. If they are a mix, then try to figure out what makes more sense and use the one that makes more sence. Now if there are physical components to the answers then you will always use ABC & D. Hope that helps and good luck.
