CONGRATULATIONS!! I totally agree with you on the Kaplan prep. I did that and nothing else to prep and taking the NCLEX went so smoothly.
Hello everyone! This is my first post. I took the NCLEX last Thursday and found out today that I passed!! :w00t:I HIGHLY recommend taking Kaplan. My school had us take an ATI test to predict how we would do on NCLEX. I had a 97% chance of passing. I took Kaplan anyway as insurance. I did about 3000 questions and hovered around what they recommended. When I sat down to take the NCLEX, the look of the questions and the questions themselves were so similar that I felt like I was taking a Kaplan test at home. I walked out feeling very positive, but terrified that it shut off after 75 questions. I didn't review any other materials, but felt very well preparred by Kaplan.
For all you getting ready to take NCLEX, I would recommend at least buying the Qbank if not the whole course. It's worth it in the long run to only have to do NCLEX once!!!
Good luck to all of you getting ready for NCLEX. And.... Congrats to all that have passed!!!
Congrats:up:! I also took Kaplan and am scheduled to test in a few weeks. I feel so unprepared. I am only averaging about 65-70% on the Kaplan practice test. Should I be worried?
Heck no! Those are great scores! Remember kaplan recommends you score at 65%. I scored in the high 50s on the first 2-3 tests. I identified my problem areas and reviewed that content only. It turned out that I just needed to review the peds and perinatal stuff, which I haven't looked at in forever. From then on I scored about the same as you. I think the main thing is to do tons of questions and get comfortable with the types of questions and how they are asked. Just keep doing those questions, you'll be suprised how many of them feel like you have already seen them. Also, I think there comes a point where you just have to trust how hard you've worked and that you DO know something Relax the day before the test and go in knowing you will pass!
I am wondering how many questions in Kaplan Qbank? Is it 1000s? Did you do other questions besides Kaplan?
