and Prayfully I will have some good news in two days
From what I understand if you get alot of priority questions its a sign of high level questioning. But if you are getting them Right thats even better lol. Dont get caught up in getting them get caught up in answering them correctly. Also SATA are also a sign of doing well. BUt remember, Say you have 85 question Remember you really are being judged on 75 questions because 10 questions dont count so Within the 75 you gotta get 38 right to pass. Which means if you are scoring high level questions it shows you doing well. But dont use the same ratio say for example if you got 205 questions and you had 5 SATA, then that wouldnt be too good cause thats like 10 sample minus 5 Sata leave you 190. So the more questions the more priority or Sata you want Capiche? MY Recommendation is that you try to use Kaplan and NSCBN.COM those to me are good. for example, Unlike Suanders or Davis or Mosby, which give great Comprehension, Kaplan and Nscbn.com They give more Situational questions and Priority. Which you will need to know, Cause if you see SUgar of 200 and you seen Hematacrit of 55% which one you are going to pick. Both are high. Or say you see a Patient that is a stroke patient what would make you alert the Doctor, Low bp and RR Slow SPeech and confusion. LOL Tough right. From what i know Saunders doesnt get that deep in rationale. kaplan and NSCBN. do and when i studied from those two, I did them over and over and over and over till where i went from 55% to 85% consistency. took me about 4 weeks studying, BUt i didnt work, just study study study. did allnighters cause at night nobody bothers you nothing on tv and everybody sleeping. So its you and the tests. So To be honest i was doing 300 questions a day for 4 days then upped it to 550 questions then after 2 weeks was doing 1000 or more a days cause the Nscbn. has practice tests of 40 and 15 of them. So i wrote down which ones i got wrong. and I had the kaplan online tests that i did over and over. 4 weeks of doing those and Nscbn and i was good. I didnt take a day off and i did study the day before the test. THis was my third time taking hte test,. My school Really didnt tell me that the Nclex was Priority or Critical thinking so i didnt really know what to study the first time. Then when i failed I studied Kaplan for a week and i got 202 questions and failed because i didnt really study. So the third time i was gonna Do Suzzannes plan but too much politics and she seemed too busy just to give me a Plan to study, I mean if its free and so helpful why so hard to get a free plan, But whatever , So i did something outside the box. I decided to pay for the Nscbn because they are directly affiliated with Pearson VUe and they are the ones that make the NCLEX. Plus it was cheap 49$ for 3 weeks which i had to extend so i shouldve taken the week for 59 dollars but whatever. and you can print out some of the tests with rational. VERY SIMILIAR types of questions were seen on the nclex. Not word for word but i deciphered them quickly. And the Ncscbn give about 40 priority questions, 40 pharmacology, and Care Coordination questions all in all the questions add up to about over 1000 questions. Kaplan has 1000 questions too plus 150 of final exams with rationale. Also, This is the trick to studying for the Nclex THe questions that you study are differently PUT than the Nclex but if you patiently read the questions LIke when the questions ask you what do you INITIALLY do, oR what First do you do, Dont forget others you may do but not First. Get it.. For example Say your patient has a tracheotomy newly done and is not answering the bell when you ring them ,do you go into the room and find out why and what is bothering them or do you Knock on the patients doorfirst and announce your wonderful prescence . hopefully if you dont want to be missing easy but key questions you ll knock. Even though you want to see whats wrong the Nclex is all about etiquette and respect and Respecting PRIVACY. See i learned this by studying. My school never told me that on the test they gonna ask this. Also, Medications exam cram was good for meds they break down a quick easy way to study and know meds without studying the whole Generation of meds. Go to Borders or bookstore get a pen and copy it. LOL if you donthave the Money, ANd yes i said it, do what you gotta do to pass as long as it s Fair. and True. NO one has all the answers trust me you dont need to know all the meds but know the Suffixes Like Lam, ONE, PINE, Know Mao s and pyschotic meds and the side effects. Know heart meds and side effects. Get some index cards and realize most Card meds USUALLY have about the same Side effects. Know Lasix and K sparing meds and as well as Non Sparing and Know ALot about K Potassium side effects. know your levels and know Endocrine system. LIke Hypo Hyper thyroidism Thyroidectomies trust me know it. and know Steriods the s/e of them and how it affects K and the WBC counts and osteoporisosis. DOnt worry about knowing the minor things but just know what to look for in case of a emergency. So if anyone of is critical of anything i said thats your business hold it and say ALIBABA AND THE 40 thieves and mind your business. I am PRO NURSES and want you to pass. Trust me I had alot against me but i did it on 85 questions and i pulled it out Now its time to do my thing. I am a Male I used to be a stockbroker left Wallstreet to do this and Did it, I notice alot of Narrow minded Nurses try to show Superiority and are doing absolutely nothing to help each other. People swear they all smart and up to par and God bless you for your intelligence but in your Smartness dont forget to remember where you came from. I was the only one in my Nursing School that in clinical Delivered a baby alongside the doctor. Mind you, the teacher only asked me to see if was going to do it and I dont back down to nobody. Alot of PEOPle in Nursing are Jealous, Competitive and RUDE, Know how to speak to somebody, Fix your face and Learn how to smile, I dont get it you so smart but your attitude is so Dark like Darth Vader. I dont let nobody get me down. And i will keep my good attitude and not let the Dark Vaders of Nursing or the Job contaminate me, I will take days off and enjoy my life and not overdue it. SO to all the people that think you all that and your **** dont stink You know what you can kiss. BUT TO all those struggling and trying and realize its all about helping the sick and lowly and getting paid in dollars and in a sense of doing well to others in need GOD BLESS FIGHT HARD and dont let the UGLY Faces of the worn out nurses get you down, and tell them if they talking about you behind your back TO MIND YOUR BUSINESS. have faith!! plus 85 is not the magic number there are people that go all the way up to 205 and swear that they fail and then they get the results that they passed. please let us know. good luck!!
