You did it to early. You may have failed but you won't know for certain until quick results are available or the BoN posts your results. It's a trick. There are no guarantees

A lot of people get their money taken and still pass . You may have done the trick too early . Just wait for the quick results .

Sorry to hear OP. The PVT isn't the most reliable indicator of pass or fail. What was your study routine like? Also were you extremely nervous to the point where you could not focus? Anxiety during test can be a huge factor and an equally huge hinderance. Hopefully the trick was in fact done too early and you actually did pass!

Just as an FYI, in case others are interested, the PVT relates to a national software registration program, and it doesn't vary by State. There is no "Michigan PVT".

There was a ridiculous thread awhile back in which someone kept insisting that the PVT worked in this State but not that one...just silly and wrong. It works or doesn't work regardless of where you took the test or what State you are testing for. It's a trick no matter where you are standing ;)

I only put Michigan because I'm in Michigan I wanted to get other people's stories on it.

Pearson Vue trick applies to every state. It doesn't vary...anyway, you should have used a valid card but changed the expiration date. If it took your money and you have received a confirmation of payment then you may have failed. Usually it is most accurate after the second scoring.

When is the second scoring

After twenty four hours from when you finished the exam

Ok it wasn't 24hrs I did it 45 mins afterwards

Ok it wasn't 24hrs I did it 45 mins afterwards

Then, as has already been said...you did it too early and now can't know if you passed or failed. If you paid $200....you either paid for a new registration you will need for a future NCLEX exam, or you donated 200 non-refundable dollars to Pearson Vue.

Every exam undergoes a QA review. This review occurs AT SOME POINT during the 24 hours following each exam; the exact point is unknown and varies greatly. We KNOW it varies because some States are able to post a license # (meaning THEY received notice already of confirmation of a "pass") prior to 24 hours' time.

Anyone who does the PVT prior to 24 hours from completion of the exam only "knows" (and by "know" I mean "best guesstimate based on a trick") that the score that shut off the computer was a pass or fail (depending on the message received). It is excruciatingly unlikely that your exam was reviewed prior to 45 minutes --- ok, let's go with it just didn't happen---which means you paid for another exam based on the presumption you failed. Or not.

Bottom line: you cannot do the PVT again, you will of course be told you have an open registration and cannot reschedule because you ALREADY opened another registration. That's the point.

You will have to wait for official results. Good luck.

OP, I tested in MI. Quick Results are available exactly 48 hours after your exam. I took mine at 8 AM on a Tuesday and my results were available at 8 AM that Thursday. It took the BON 9 days to post my license to the LARA site.

It's definitely worth the $7.95 to pay PV for Quick Results :)
