NCLEX PN in California

Nursing Students NCLEX

Does anyone know how long until you receive official results in the mail? I am from CA...I took my NCLEX PN on 12/12/13 and did the PVT trick that evening and also got the "good pop up" but I just can't officially celebrate lol.

Darn CA for not participating in the quick results lol!

Advice anyone?

:)

Thank u!

Hey it's take exactly 4 week to get ur official letter in CA

Thanks. I was hoping I could know sooner but I guess I have to wait like everyone else!!

Thank you :D

I took my NCLEX for June 10 2013. Got my official letter result July 5 2013. I did the PVT and I got a good pop up.

Thank you so much. That's exactly what I wanted to know. Just wanted to have an idea...I don't remember the exact amount of questions I went up to but i remember the last time I looked at the number it was 177!! I felt like I was there forever. I know the amount of questions you get doesn't reflect on a pass or fail but it made me nervous that I almost was at 200!

Anyways, I appreciate the feedback.

Congrats to you btw!! :)

You're welcome and Thank you! I feel you! I got nervous when I passed 85 questions, I forsure thought I was gonna go all the way to 205. But the last time I looked I was at 120. Then a couple questions later my computer just shut down. I freaked. NCLEX sure makes you feel like you failed it. Haha. Good luck!

how is the exam

hello and a big congrats on your achievement. I too will be taking nclex pn in less than a week. Any last minute pointers you would like to share? Please, it would be greatly appreciated!

I don't know what to tell u 4ivyMN about the exam. Mine felt long...I literally had a little bit of everything: dosage calculations, a few select all that apply, priority ?'s, pharm, ordering stuff from beginning to end, and a diagram.

Monkey123009 one of my review books and the bulletin that comes with the ATT suggests going to the testing site if your not already familiar with the bldg and location. I went a couple days before and I must say it really took a lot of stress away! Another thing one of my books recommends is to write ur name along with LVN or LPN next to it in a place u will see daily. I put mine on my desk where I study. It motivated me when I was feeling discouraged lol...I know it sounds corny but it helps!! I also recommend knowing ur labs; BUN, creatine, WBC, platelet, etc. those are obvious but just sharing.

It is so broad of a test I would say don't panic...you can't kno absolutely everything just be as confident as can be! I did panic about that before but it helped knowing we made it through nursing school and this is just the finish line! confidence is key! :) good luck to you.

Thank you so much for your response, and congrats once again! What books/material did you study from?

Thank u I really appreciate it. I just hope the PVT is accurate so I can celebrate! Once I get the results I shall post!!

I mainly studied from Saunders Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX PN By Linda Anne Silvestri, I used PEARSON REVIEWS & RATIONALES: COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW FOR NCLEX-PN for reference on some chapters. And I used an exam cram "cram sheet" (that has labs and good info) and didn't read the whole book but looked at the Kaplan nclex strategies, practice, and review.

Hope that helps :)

It helps, thanks! Please do yourself a favor and go out and celebrate. You deserve it!
