NCLEX-PN in the AM

Scheduled tomorrow morning @ 0800hrs. I am taking the unorthodox approach of drinking wine and hanging out with my dogs instead of studying tonight. I'll see what happens tomorrow! :smokin:

Congrats! I took my nclex yesterday, 12-12 and shut off at 85 as well, HOWEVER I am freaking out...cant remember any of the questions except the ones I had no clue about. I too drank wine the night before and tequilla the night after!!! The waiting is horrible, just trying to stay busy but woke up several times last night recalling a question then getting up to research an answer. I honestly dont know if I passed or failed.

From what I gather shutting off early can indicate really good or the opposite EEKS!! Wish I had purchased one of the practice books but our school provided a set of the ATI books to each student however it would take months to read the entire set. My daughter is testing in January, thinking of purchasing a practice/test tips for xmas. Can someone tell me the absolute best one?? Cost is not a factor.

Myopportunity - I found the Saunders edition study guide wonderful. I believe the 3rd edition is for LPN and 4th edition is for RN. GOOD LUCK to you and too your daughter also.

Thanks! I placed an order for Saunders 3rd edition a few moments ago..now my daugher can use it and I can IF I have to retest in 90 days!!

Everyone (but me) is confident that I did pass..my grades were good, I made a 99% chance of passing the nclex on my predictor (our school requires we take an online predictor) and we (the school) has had a 100% pass rate for several years so my chances are good but I keep thinking...what if I just went crazy and answered them all wrong???

Should know something by this time tomorrow unless Sunday doesnt count then it will be Monday . the wait is awful.

I am sure you did great. I found that just paying attention in class, following the assigned readings, and researching subjects on my own prepared me well for the nclex. It seemed that most of my questions were prioritization questions, and I also had a lot of questions about pregnancy and babies (an area in which I am not exactly the strongest).

WOO HOO...the wine thing works!!! Just found out that I did pass. It took a good friend on the phone pushing me to click:typing for the results, I was so frightened...quite unlike me...but I was scared to death to see "failed".

What a weight lifted!! :p

Now to find that job, no more free labor here!!:D

Congrats... How and for how long did you study ? I already have the Saunders book, but I feel like I need more.

Well our school utilizes the ATI testing format so I took numerous tests including a predictor (questions similar to the nclex) and made a 99% chance of passing.

Everyone recommends the Saunders, so I ordered it for my daughter who is testing next month. I hope it is a good source??

To tell you the truth, I didnt have a difficult time during the test but the wating game afterwards will drive you crazy; you start trying to recall the questions but the only ones I remembered were the ones I had a hard time with. My advice it so be very rested the day/night before and if you have areas of weakness study those and you should do fine. My test shut down at 85 questions, most of the time that is a good indicator but NOT ALWAYS. Do you have a test date?

I have an interview in the morning, quick huh? I want med surg experience to improve my skills and hopefully can work in OB eventually.
