Hi there..
For those of you who have taken the NCLEX recently, I was hoping to quell the rumors about the NCLEX exam. Does NCLEX provide both the generic and brand name of the drug or is it one or the other.
I know they give you the name of the drug without any additional information- and to make it even more challenging, they are doing the "PICK-ALL THAT APPLY" with the drugs- ARGH!
I understand PHARM is a big area of the NCLEX and I wanted to make sure--
Thanks a handful

The latest I heard was that one needs to know both. Have not heard that there have been any changes to that warning.

Took it this month, the NCLEX questions that I had was just mention the brand name no generic, scenario, or classification... After my exam found out it was all psychiatric drugs.

It all depends. Most psychiatric questions only give brand name. But there are also questions with both generic and brand name.

I just took it today and was presented with the generic and the brand name for all drugs.
