NCLEX Passers - anyone take ATI Predictor??

Published

at my nursing school we took an exit ati predictor exam which gives us a percentage of passing the nclex -

i'm wondering if anyone else out there who has taken and passed the nclex also did the ati tests and the ati predictor?? if so, how did you do and do you feel the ati tests were comparable in difficulty to the actual nclex?? :(

thanks!

I took ATI a few months ago and it gave me a 91% chance of passing. We had to have an 88% or above or else the school would assign us a tutor and a study schedule. However, they told us that a student who had a 99% chance of passing got all the way to 250 questions and was having a breakdown during the test. I also know a girl who had a 90-some percent chance of passing and she failed. They also told us that some people who got in the 80s and 70s passed so my friends and I feel that it does not have as strong a correlation as it's supposed to. Hope this helps :)

We took ATI at my school. I had a 98% chance of passing on the first try, however other people who had the same results as I did failed. I do not think that ATI is a very accurate predictor.

Which is why I took Kaplan Complete and PASSED on my first try! When I took Kaplan's diagnostic test (the first test they give you out of school) it said I would have failed the NCLEX if I would have taken it right away.

the program i graduated from required 90% and above on the ati. i came out with a 97%! i was thrilled, because that was a long test and i am not a good test taker! well, i would have rather taken the ati comprehensive predictor twice than to sit for the nclex ever again! 125 question was nothing like the nclex's 85 questions. i was in total shock after walking out of pearsonvue. hell, i almost forgot where i parked.

with that being said, i did not rely on the comprehensive predictor alone. i start studying a week before my nclex exam. after reviewing my weakest areas, taking quizzes found on the internet and answering over 300 practice questions, i felt pretty good about the test going in. coming out is a different story......

guess what......i passed

and so will you!;)

Took ATI comprehensive today, the predictor said i have 96% of passing NCLEX. :dancgrp::[anb]:

I did not like the Virtual ATI. I had a predicted pass rate of 99%. The NCLEX questions were very similar to the VATI, but there were no rationals right there for you to read. If you wanted to find a rationale, you had to find the book that the subject was in...arrrggghhh:banghead: Anyway, I really liked the Saunders NCLEX review, but I found the questions to be too easy. The content of the book was a great review.

I passed with 75 questions.

Hi Kmom.....When you took the Virtual ATI and had to take a predictor exam at the end of it, do you remember what version of the test you were given? Was it 3.0 version or 2007A/B? Bc I took the 2007 A and B version in my nursing program and I dont think it would make any sense if the Virtual ATI were to test me on the same things....

Is anyone else's program tying the ATI exam to progression for each course? Our school is not only using it as an exit exam, but they are failing students regardless of the course grade and clinical grade if students do not meet level II proficiency. That means that if you have an A+ in Medsurge and a Satisfactory+ in the clinical, but you score below level II on the ATI you have to repeat the course and the clinical! Plus you get a big fat F and U on your transcript.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

I scored ATI with 99.9% chance of passing NCLEX. In addition, I took Kaplan and scored fairly well and received the 'all clear' to test ASAP. Just passed NCLEX in 75 questions!!! HURRAY!!

My BSN program required a score of 70% on the exit exam to graduate. I scored an 82% which gave me a 99% prediction that I would pass NCLEX the first time around...and I did! I hated ATI at the time, but looking back on it, I studied so hard for ATI that when it came down to NCLEX, I just needed to review instead of cramming for 2 weeks.

We took tests produced by the NLN. The majority failed the tests but passed the NCLEX.

I feel that ATI's wording in the questions was more like nclex than saunders but saunders review was more in depth. I really liked them both but I studied alot of Ignativicus because that book was quoted most in both programs. I got 98% on ATI and I passed after 89 questions.
