Nursing Students NCLEX

Hi all!

Just seeing if there are any March 2012 NCLEX takers out there! I have been studing so hard for the past 2 months and finally got my ATT from my school, so I am registered to take my test the first week in March! I am so excited and nervous about taking it... excited about *hopefully* passing and nervous about the whole testing process! I am just ready for this to be over with so I can move on with my life and start my nursing career! What have you guys been studying? Any former NCLEX takers wanna give any insight? All replies are appreciated! Good luck to everyone!:nurse:

Hey Rachel dont study too much before your exam cuz I did that and I actually cried so many times cuz I was so overwhelmed lol. I say if you believe in God, you should go to church. I went to church the day before I tested and oh boy I was so calm all a sudden. My mind just cleared up. Also watch those youtube videos that motivates you and relaxes you. FOr me I watched (dont make fun of me lol), THE MOST RELAXING MUSIC IMAGINABLE - YouTube and WHITNEY HOUSTON & MARIAH CAREY-WHEN YOU BELIEVE-HQ+LYRICS - YouTube . Before you test, take a cleanse breath and know that you studied hard and you deserve to pass and that YOU CAN DO IT!

If youre testing tomorrow do not read that 300 pages of stuff. Read the 35 pages instead cuz theyre similar. Also with drugs, know your suffixes and prefixes cuz they helped me A LOT! Even though I do not know the drugs once I see a certain suffixes I can just cross out those choices that do not make sense. know SPIDERMAN, MRS WEE, VCHOPS, my chicken hez TB, VEAL CHOPS... ok whoeever made these mneumonics up, GOd bless you! lol

Ruskenz, dont sell your soul!!!!!!!! lol I believe you . LOL I agree with you about knowing your content. At first in kaplan questions I was getting 39-50... then I read my kaplan book twice, it suddenly went up to 60- 83. LOL Also feueur has lectures which helped me tremendously cuz they were really funny and I was actually laughing at myself when I had a question that they were joking about in lecture. lol finally, Sauders's SATA book alll the waaaaaaaaaaay! its this one Amazon.com: Strategies for Alternate Item Formats on the NCLEX-RN® Exam, 1e (9781416038412): Linda Anne Silvestri PhD RN, Yazmin Mojica MSN/MPH MA RN CNS: Books . its so good. I had so many questions similar to this one. I really think I did ok cuz of sata. lol

Good luck!! youll pass it!

Youre welcome, sweety2012. Since you have a week left. I suggest you read the 300 pages. If you have kaplan, I also went over qbanks again before I took my exam. I did this for about a week but I coudn't finish reviewing everything so for the last five qbanks I just reviewed the questions I got wrong and wrote them down to make sure I dont make those mistakes again. Surprisingly a lot of the questions I got wrong were on the exam. I guess thats why really focus on your weakness!

I had 80 questions and have the good pop up. I still am not able to calm down until I have official results. I need the official to really feel like I passed this thing. Took it at 8am today and checked the pop up 2 hours later and got good pop up. Still feel iffy...uggghhhhh

Hey yall! I took my NCLEX this morning at 9:30, originally scheduled for 11:30 but I got there extra early and they took me in early! My boyfriend drove me to the testing site to help ease some of my anxiety... I cried before I got into the testing center because I was so NERVOUS! Well..... I took 85 questions and I just did the Pearson Vue trick and got the GOOD POP UP! AHHH I was so happy to see that!!! I had 25 SATA (I hate those!) a few drugs I had never heard of, infection control, delegation, no math :( no OB :( I don't get to see my quick results until 48 hours in business days and since today is Saturday, I won't find out my unofficial results until Tuesday :( But I am a firm believer in the PVT and I hope it works for me! I would like to thank you guys from the bottom of my heart for your support and comfort!

good luck march 2012 takers!!! .. :)

I took the test February 6th and saw my license on the BRN license verification site on March 2nd. I passed at 75 questions. I didn't have a rigid study plan. I did ~800 questions from the Saunders Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX-RN Examination 5th edition computer test bank 4 days before the test. I did all subject areas, but not all the questions. I selected a 4-6 topics and did those questions until I noticed the same topics being addressed. The rationales are excellent. Also, these questions alerted me to some serious sloppy reading (e.g., not noticing the needs reinforcement/further teaching type phrases). Overall, the questions were an excellent review. I felt totally comfortable and confident during the test. You can gauge how you're doing while you test. If you answer ~5 multiple choice questions and then get a SATA, you're doing well because you were able to answer all the low to medium level questions. All SATA questions are regarded as high-level (I had 16 SATA). There were only 2 questions I smiled at because they were simply recall (these are not good to get because you have not been able to answer the mid-high level questions). Long multiple choice questions with answers that are sentences are the good mid-levels to get; priority questions are also mid-level. Once the test determines you have answered enough mid to high level questions, you will no longer be asked anything on that subject. I had all topic areas. Here is an example of how much the test varies from individual to individual. These reports are from my study group during school:

Student 1: Passed with 75 Questions - Mostly disease management and medications with 10 SATA; no math

Student 2: Passed with 77 Questions - Bit of everything with 12 SATA; 1 math

Student 3: Failed with 84 Questions - Mostly unfamiliar medications and unfamiliar diseases with 2 SATA ; 1 math

Student 4: Passed with 95 Questions - Bit of everything with 14 SATA (more psych than expected); 1 math

Me: Passed with 75 Questions - Bit of everything with 16 SATA (more peds and OB than expected); 1 math

Some people report studying 8 hours a day for 2 months while some report not studying at all.

hey guys just believe in pearson view lol. I passed. lol Rachel you did it! YOURE FREE! lol

yea I studied for like 8 hours I believe per day. It was hard to stick with a study plan but you get used to it eventually

I will keep y'all updated on the unofficial results!

thank you! also I think the 48 hours is not from the beginnning of your exam rather when you ended your exam. I was waiting to get my quick results at 2pm in which I started my exam but i ended up getting my result an hour and half later cuz thats how long it took me to finish. Good luck! keep us posted. I know you pass! I dont mind betting on it LOOOOOOOOOOOL
