Most of the posts I found were ah a few years old. Also good luck everyone who has still to take the exam. Please share or comment on the following:

- Kaplan QT 1-7 scores

- Kaplan Qbank average

Question:

Has anyone been able to fully remediate their scores and get 60% or higher on all client needs categories? I haven't been able to and I do look at the areas I'm weak in. It seems as though I'll do good on some categories on a QT but then I do another QT and the categories I previously did well in I end up doing poorly in. It's just not consistent. Not sure what to do.

i passed nclex!!!! :w00t: so the pvt worked for me!!!!

i didn't pay for the quick result, i just checked on the pa state website & saw that my name & license number was there!! i tested fri 7/6 & it was posted on mon 7/9 by 9am !

@ starmickey03

have you looked at your qbank cumulative results? they may give you a more accurate portrayal of your strengths & the areas that you need some more work on. the same thing happened to me & no i didn't stay above 60 in every area on every test. it is true that you need to focus on you weaknesses, but please don't forget to continue to raise the bar on the areas that are currently your strengths. :) good luck!!!

hey everyone just wondering what you guys think: my scores so far are:

QT1: 49%

QT2: 71%

QT3: 59%

QT4: 59%

QT5: 58%

have yet to take QT 6&7. taking my NCLEX very soon and I'm nervous that these grades aren't so great. I score anywhere form high 50s to low 60s on the qbanks. what's your input?

Okay, thanks! @dannybooo

I haven't done any of the QBank yet. Im going to complete QT 5, 6, & 7 this week and then move on to the QBank. Its just kind of frustrating because every single category is fluctuating. I'm getting the recommended scores but its hard to know what I need to remediate because one day I do well on a category and the next day I bomb the same category.

Hi everyone,

I've been following this thread for a couple of weeks now and have found it to be very useful and motivating to keep on studying. I want to say thanks for everyone's input and willingness to share.

I am testing this coming Friday, 7/20 and cannot be anymore anxious about it. Here's my scores:

Diagnostic: 53 (I took it before I did any review/studying)

Q1: 52

Q2: 53

Q3: 53

Q4: 59

Q5: 64

Q6: 62

Q7: 55 (I was a bit disappointed by this score since my scores were trending higher into the 60s)

Readiness: 66

Sample test #1: 62

Sample test #2: 58

Sample test #3: 83

QBank: 61% with 65% completed

According to the scale that was posted earlier in this thread, my readiness score seems to be right where I want it. I just don't want to get complacent over these next few days before the exam, so I still plan to finish the rest of the QBank and then go over the rationales again for content remediation. I have a bad habit of second-guessing or over-thinking questions, which is what I'm worried about most. At any rate, any tips/suggestions from you guys would be wonderful. Thanks!

Don't worry too much about numbers, focus on your mentality going into the test. I know you're not going to feel 100% ready for the test, but just as long as you have a general concept of what is expected I think you should be fine. Do not be discouraged about your scores dropping to __ or what not. But if you're a numbers-person like me, you're numbers are great.

The problem with your second-guessing/over-thinking, just focus really on what the question is asking, and REALLY understand the outcome of each answer. That is the biggest reason for over-thinking/second-guessing is because you're not sure what the outcome is of each answer is. To be honest, your first guess is usually the correct one. I ran into some problems with that as well but as I took my test, I'd pick an answer, then re-read to make sure this answer choice answers the question, then I start to doubt myself but I stuck with my first choice. I'm pretty sure I would get those right because my next question would be a SATA (so I'm assuming I got the last question correctly).

All in all, get plenty of rest the night before, try to relax (like everyone says) the day. If you truly feel guilty, wake up early in the morning, do some Qbanks, and then just do basic memorization such as labs, mnenomics, etc.

Do not let your nerves overcome you during the test, and good luck!

Many thanks for the kind words & support!

@Biggie1 - reviewing saunders and doing kaplan questions its normal that scores increasing because you're gaining knowledge and learning testing skills. I'd be more concern if you're qbank / QT scores aren't increasing or worst start dropping. Same thing with question trainers improving is expected so long as QT6 and 7 is above 60% you're ready.

Qbank questions i feel are harder than QTrainers but .. all in all very very similar to the actual NCLEX exam. Also Qbank with each test being only 50 questions the scores will jump around more meaning you'll have some higher and some lower. IT evens out if you average em for the week. Keep studying make sure you're improving the scores even by 1 pt gotta compare new scores to your average and focus studying on areas you're consistently weak in. SO by test time you've filled in the gaps and you've a uniform knowledge. there's no i hope they won't ask for X because the computer eing a CAT will go straight for your weak zones. GOOD LUCK!!

Do all of your QT, QBank, look up the content, take notes on stuff you got wrong dont just read the rationale, if have time still create a quiz of all the ones you previously got wrong and keep drilling it. Think kaplan quoted that most of people who complete all of the quetsions pass so keep that in mind

I have Saunders and exam cram, and ATI I take my test in 1 month. I only think I can afford kaplans nclex q-bank? Should I get it?

Hello! I took my NCLEX-RN on 7/11/12 and I passed with 250's Q's! I had 23 SATA, common medications, tons of prioritization and delegations. Half hour after taking the exam I tried PVT and got the "Good POP UP". After 4 days I saw my name on BON, I passed! yayyy!!! I used Kaplan on Demand it's pricey but it was totally worth it and Saunders Comprehensive. Here's my scores: QT1=54, QT2=52, QT3=56, QT4=55, QT5=60, QT6= 57, QT7= 60. I finished 100% Qbank with 54% avg. As you can see my scores were not that good but what I did every time I missed a question I used saunders book to familiarize about the topic. Diagnostic Test= 60%. Readiness Test= 63%. I prepared for 3months (4days in a wk cause I was still working PT). I answered 150Q's per day. and I bought the Saunders Apps. Good luck to all future nurses! To God Be The GLory!

Hey Everyone!!! I thought I would get some insight and see if I'm ready or not. I graduated school May 20th & after that I immediately started the Kaplan course. I attended two weeks of in-class seminars going over tons & tons of nclex style questions. My school required us to pass with a 60% or above on the readiness test. I ended up getting a 68.3. After all of this I ended up taking the month of June off & now I just recently started back up in July wth my test date being August 1st. (Super nervous) Here are my test scores:

Diagnostic:55%

Readiness:68.3%

QT 1:61%

QT 2:57%

QT 3:48% (ouch)

QT 4:66%

QT 5:59%

QT 6:63.5%

QT 7: Im saving this for next week.

I have used 82% percent of my Q bank which i plan on finishing within these next two weeks and my cumulative score is at 52% which I feel is on the low side.

I was thinking about pushing back my test date back another week til August 8th, but I think my nerves are getting the best of me. Everyone that I have talked to so far from my school has passed with 75 questions. One 115 & the 157. I'm just such a nervous nelly & maybe I just need to take a zanax to calm myself down before I start to over think things. I would love any insight. Reading many of these posts are extremely encouraging!
