NCLEX IN 3 WEEKS

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hi guys,

I am getting so antsy:wacky: just waiting to take my exam on the 23rd of October. I just keep hoping what I am doing is enough. I am currently studying with HURST online review. I have already watched all of the videos once and filled out my outlines. I am now spending each day with one or two topics from the videos.

Study Plan Example:dead::

Oncology day. I watch Hurst Oncology videos with my outline, stop the video at the end of each page, close my eyes and lecture out loud as though I had a class. I then quiz myself on quizlet under the hurst oncology & oncology med. flash cards I've found. Then I do practice questions from PDA LaCharity under Oncology, Saunders Oncology, and NCSBN oncology. The week before my test I will do all hurst Qbank questions that they have, along with Kaplan Q-trainers 4 to 7.

I am so nervous and hoping that I am doing enough to pass. Wish me luck guys, and if you've used Hurst and passed, please send some encouragement.

Hi ,

just wanted to know how much is the Hurst online review? and how effective it is when u prepared for nclex?

$300. I believe that it was very very effective. As long as you study the material exactly how you are told to, review until you can lecture on any topic at the drop of a hat, and trust that HURST is enough for you to pass. Getting distracted with other review sources can cause you to doubt, and cause you to not pass with your own program. Pick a program, Trust your program, finish it, and then after you know what you need to you can supplement with other questions. I did kaplan q trainers, and the PDA book after I finished all of my hurst q-bank. to challenge my knowledge. It worked! My scores were competitive. And I felt ready for any question, and passed NCLEX-RN in 75 questions.

Congrats RN :)

Hurst is enough. It is perfect especially since you graduated 5 years ago. When I got Hurst I put away my Saunders and everything else. I followed their program exactly. Rewatched the videos a couple times, and went over their notes daily. I didn't use their 6 q banks until the week before my exam. I tried other review programs briefly and realized that none of them were for me, kaplan, remar, and ncsbn. However just for kicks I did a few q trainers, remar questions, and ncsbn questions a few days before my exam and my scores were very high, so I took that as I studied efficiently and did no more none HURST questions. I went into my test exhausted from studying. I knew that there was nothing left to do to make me more prepared Hurst prepared me so well, and I couldn't look at another NCLEX question or NCLEX anything. I was over it, I give my preparation my all, so I tested. Good luck you will do amazing, If I had been out of school for awhile I would only go with hurst, it was all I needed. Love Saunders but it may be too much information, if you must use saunders, just use it for alternate format questions.

wow thanks for your reply. i really appreciate it. now i know what to do. thank you!! :)

just have a question regarding hurst online review because it says there that you have 90 day access to their materials. does it mean that i have to finish the all the core content, specialty topic, and practice questions in 90 days? i don't think that's enough time for me to review because I'm working 7 days a week and knowing that i graduated 5 years ago i really have to review my content. does it work that way? i hope not.

and also can i print all of the lecture notes at a time?

Joy, thanks for your time and effort on replying to my questions. i really appreciate and you're really helping me. Again, Congrats. All the best on your new career. :)

Yes, it truly is only 90 days and yes you can print the lecture notes at a time. I know of some people who sent it to Kinkos and had them make a book out of the notes for about $20. I just printed mine at home and put it in a three ring binder. I am one to over study and kept looking over the materials and still felt that it was enough time. However I was not working 7 days a week. I think you will find that most programs do not have a long time frame for access and I have tried a lot of them. The same material is covered in their 3-day live review, so maybe you can set aside three days to knock them out and then just study with the lecture notes after that and listen to videos when you have the time.

When you say you did a few q-trainers did you spend money on them? How did you access them? Thanks!

Officially q- trainers are a paid, proprietary service offered by Kaplan (who owns all rights to the name concepts, content and copyright trademark. ).

That said some people find the program invaluable( cost is around $300 for the stand alone qtrainers).

Some of the Kaplan review classes /programs include access as part of the prep service. Sometimes discounts are offered to students preparing for graduation/recently graduated. Some schools include the Kaplan NCLEX prep program as a part of tuition and fees.

If you purchase them (at least when I prepped for the NCLEX ) you were sent a link, username & password to access the online qtrainers.

thanks for your reply. i will sign up tomorrow. i guess i just have to sacrifice some time for sleep to study. i know it will all pay off once you pass because it is the best feeling. some sense of accomplishment. i can do this! wew. thanks again cptjoyjoy. you're a great help. :)

I used Hurst, passed with 85 questions. Hurst is excellent and I graduated years ago 2006 and passed on August 19 2013 :)

Hi, congrats for passing NCLEX. I graduated 5 years ago and just want to ask how did you study, like how many months? and how many hours per day? and what review materials did you use? thanks.
