NCLEX got canceled Help!

Published

Hi! I don't know if this is the right forum to post my question:P

As can be seen in my title, my NCLEX RN exam got canceled today due to the weather. Since it's a Saturday, I couldn't get hold of anyone from pearson or NCLEX so I can reschedule. I tried logging in to my account but it wouldn't let me reschedule. The automated message they (Pearson) left said that if the weather is okay on Monday they will resume office but they failed to mention anything regarding the exam. So my question is "Should I go on Monday or did anyone have experience similar to mine and what did you do?" Any suggestions or answers will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

What?!! Your NCLEX got cancelled. A BLESSING:) Now some last minute studying or relaxation- the choice is yours.

I'm sure you can call them , this is only Sat. something will come up before monday or if not, then call monday or go there. They're most likely swamped right now. Fret not and all the best in your exams.

Tofu addict, I'm sorry to hear you had your appointment canceled. I bet you're really bummed, but I guess as the poster above indicated you can use the time for studying. Or playing in the snow. I suppose it's better to have it canceled than to fail because you're super stressed out over a crazy drive in.

Call them Monday (or whenever they reopen) and schedule a new appointment. On Monday they'll have all the people who were already scheduled for Monday. I'm sure they didn't just move your appointment ahead a couple of days.

That happened to me today too. I posted in the NJ section. I had called two days and THE day prior to the test and didnt get answers as how we are going to be accomodated. I spent $99 on a hotel room to be close to the testing center for nothing. They CANNOT make us wait long to take this.

Tis is not a blessing but a curse. The longer you wait after you graduate to take it, the lower your chances of passing.

Thank you for all of your replies. But as Runnernurse09 said it's a curse! I want to get this exam over with so I can just relax. haha But I think everything happens for a reason.

p.s. Runnernurse09: We're you able to reschedule your appointment for Monday next week? I have been trying to call them but no answer. I've even sent them an email. I'm trying to reschedule through my Pearson Vue account but I can't.

First thing in the morning on Monday, call them. Don't try to go in without contacting them. Even if they are open on Monday, they have other appointments scheduled. Use the extra days to review. Reschedule for another day. Good luck.

Good http://news:(I guess) Tofu- Pearson called me to reschedule my test. Bad news is I got lucky and snagged a close spot a week away, but most spots left are in March(I dont know where you are, but I wish you luck).

Good luck on your exam and getting a close spot. It sucks that they wont keep the centers open late or open them on Sundays to accomodate us.

RunnerNurse09: What???? Seriously? It's not my fault that they cancelled my appointment. Why shouldn't they accommodate me since I specifically scheduled my exam early in Feb. They should do a better job in fixing this situation. I feel like stuck at it is and I have to wait for March if ever? Grrrr!! I guess I have to "talk"to the person on Monday. You are lucky though!!!:p

OMGosh you guys are freaking me out. I'm scheduled to take it on Monday and if they are closed and I have to reschedule I will lose my start date for work and maybe my position! Thank God I have plenty of munchies in the house for stress eating!!! :/

They really do need to accomodate people. If they dont call you, when you talk to them Monday, push to get them to make an exception and squeeze you in somewhere. She did say that if they couldnt schedule you within a month they would try and make exceptions. Push for it, because this isnt our fault. They handled this poorly.

RunnerNurse09: Yes! I will do that. After seeing your last post I left them a message saying that I'll be leaving the US for quite some time at the end of the week. So I really have to get this done and over with. I was so mentally prepared for the NCLEX awhile ago and I felt so disappointed when the guy in the front desk told me what Pearson did. They really did handle this poorly and I was expecting something different since pearson is a big company. This is the first time I've experience this with them. If they squeeze me in by late Monday afternoon or on Tuesday I think there is hell to pay! LOL!:p I've actually thought of 2 other alternatives. Either they let me take the exam in NJ instead of NY or I can take the exam in Vancouver,BC but they have to waive the extra $150 since I won't be paying for that! That is a lot of money too!:(

p.s. Sorry Chaxanmom! I know how you feel. I ate like a big tub of ice cream:bluecry1: oh no!!:p haha
