Please tell me how long it takes to get results of your NCLEX is you take the test and apply for a license in Georgia. I live in South Carolina and graduate from a SC school next month. I have a job in Georgia. I can't decide if I should take boards in Georgia or South Carolina.I wonder how ling it would take to get a Georgia license if I sit in SC first.

I highly recommend you take NCLEX in the same state in which you attended school. Otherwise you will have a paper trail nightmare. Once you get your license you can contact the Georgia board to do whatever is needed to get the information reciprocated. Since the school is in another state Georgia would have to determine if you met all their requirements. But if you already have a license that is one step you can miss.

Get your lic in the state your going to work...Nclex is a national exam, so you can take it anywhere. But you need to send your money into the BON of the state where your new job is.
I have an Indiana lic and I took the test in Ohio--only because they had a closer test date, and I didnt want to wait.

Get your license in the state in which you plan to work. Otherwise you will have to get your license in SC and then get endorsed to GA which takes additional time, documentation and money. Just take the boards in GA. If the school you are currently attending is accredited, then it shouldn't be that big of a deal. Many years ago, I attended school in GA and took the boards in TX which is where I moved to the day after graduation.

It took me exactly 48 hours from the moment I hit "submit" until I found out that I passed NCLEX. It took my job about 7 days to officially see my name on the GA BON website. A friend of mine who lives in SC took her boards in SC and then got a job in GA. It took around 4-6 weeks to get all the paperwork so that she could work in GA.
I highly recommend getting your GA license first then paying for an additional SC license later after you've gotten all settled into work. Good luck!
