NCLEX Eligibility Validity

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I am applying to take NCLEX (New York State).

I've received my eligibility letter, which is dated December 27, 2010.

It tells me that the Comparative Education Department has finished reviewing the education portion of my NCLEX application. They have approved my education and I am now eligible to apply to sit the NCLEX examination. It tells me to register online at Pearson Vue.

My question is: does my eligibility has a validity period? I am wondering how much time do I have to register online at Pearson Vue, so that I can plan my review program.

Thank you.

I believe that there is an expiration for NCLEX eligibility. Why don't you go ahead and register? It takes 4 weeks before you get your ATT. Your ATT has expiration too, but it won't be for a few months. That'll give you like almost a year if you want to take your own sweet time in studying for the test. It's not like once you get your ATT, you are pressured to sit for the test immediately. I remember receiving my ATT the 2nd week of July 2010, then I picked the date in November, and finally took the test 1st week of January 2011. Long enough. :)

In my state we have 365 days to register. You should be able to research your board of nursing website and find the timeline! Good luck!

ATT can come in days or weeks it varies, ATT once issued is usually valid for 90 days but as far as I am aware will state something on the form

Do not waste any time. Look for the information somewhere on the letter you have received or call them and ask to verify.

in NY, they say it takes several weeks to receive the ATT. but I received mine in less than a week. and ATT in NY expires in 3 mos.

Hi all,

I am working on my license for New york state. I got a little query regarding my ATT. I just paid the examination fee to Pearson VUE today and after about 30 min, i got my ATT via email from National Council Licensure Examination. But, i was surprised to see the test validity for 3 months only. Is this for only NY state or in other states too? As far as i know, in other states, the validity for test is quite longer than 3 months. I was told by one of my friend that i have to wait for about 4 weeks to get my att. But in my case, i got it right away after the payment . Please let me know ...

thanks
