Advise for nursing students! I passed the NCLEX in 75 questions. I was extremely nervous for the NCLEX and read every article I possible could for some answers. So I thought I would just give some information for nursing students to calm your nerves. I graduated nursing school (BSN) with a 3.8 in December 2016 (in Georgia). My school required us to purchase Kaplan however I only used it for school never for NCLEX prep, I found the questions odd and difficult, and their rationales made NO SENSE to me. I purchased "Hurst Now" which is the self paced online version. It is a great review of core content (literally laid out to you on a silver platter), would highly recommend. I can honestly say 10 questions on the NCLEX I would not have known without doing Hurst review. I got 62, 86, 73, 66, 82, 83 on the Q review tests (they recommend getting an 85). I personally felt like both Kaplan & Hurst question are more difficult than NCLEX. I took 2 weeks before the test to study (I would describe myself as a crammer). I took NCLEX February 9th and received my results February 10th. I used all of the tricks to see my results fast! Using the pearson vue trick (I received the good sign that I could not sign up again), looking up the your name on the board of nursing (was up within 24 hours), and using the the nursing board checklist (my results still say "pending"). I also received an email within 34 from taking the NCLEX from the board of nursing congratulating me. About the NCLEX... the questions are weird. Nothing you are expecting, I wouldn't consider them hard but you are going to second guess yourself between two answers. I got to 70 questions and the 2 hour break came up. I took the break because I was certain I was going to go past 75 questions. When I came back the next 5 questions were really easy and I was 100% sure I got them right, then my test shut off. Everyone feels like they failed because the test is WEIRD. I read so many things that said if the questions are hard that is a good sign and if they are easy that is a bad sign. So I came out of the test feeling like I atleast got half of the questions correct however they were easy so I must have messed up somewhere. It is nerve wrecking! Most of us have jobs (starting soon!) before we even pass so it is alot of pressure. I have multiple friends that got between 110-265 questions and have passed so try to stay calm (easier said than done, I know). Hopefully this will help atleast one person. Please ask any questions, I will be more than happy to answer.
