Nursing Students NCLEX

Hey everyone, I just got the letter that I passed the Nclex Pn the first time. I know there are hundreds of posts here on what worked for the students to pass but I wanted to share if anybody is interested.

Here we go:

1. STUDY IN SCHOOL. Yes, you can purchase all the questions, books and tutorials before Nclex, spend all that money but the thing is you have to start studying in school. And I mean don't just cram before each test. Actually understand how everything works, why we have such and such symptoms, WHY. I hope you are lucky like me to have a great instructor, but if you don't - no worries, study yourself, it's your career and passion (it better be). Our instructor was giving us hard tests all the time and we complained because our grades weren't as high as expected, but now I'm thanking him because it helped for Nclex!

2. Know the content first. Knowing the strategy for answering questions is important, but first you have to know the content. I used Saunders book to study, our school required ATI as well, but I didn't like ATI. If you know the Saunders' big book content and did questions, you should be fine!

3. Make sure to answer around 3000 questions before Nclex. Once you know your content, time to master those questions! I bought the Ncsbn question bank for around $50. It was pretty good, I felt that it was harder than the real Nclex. Later on I bought the Kaplan QBank for around $40 and I think the format was very close to Nclex. I also had the Nclex pn mastery app on my phone which actually was the most helpful, I used it in school too before exams to get ready. What a wonderful app, I think paid only around $22. Don't buy a crazy amount of questions and guides, I've seen people get confused because of that.

4. Go in confident. Don't hesitate. You got this! You been studying all this time.

I downloaded once a document from someone in this forum, whoever it was, God bless your heart. This was such a helpful document, especially the first 3 pages (ehem ehem). Read it and don't just skip, but analyze every sentence and if you feel like you don't know that info, open the book to get more details. Attaching it here, if you don't have it.

Good luck to whoever is going to take the test!

I have a question for OP, how long after you paid $150 for the initial license u received your physical license card and how long did you see your name on breeze website after you paid the $150? Because I have a friend who paid the $150 via breeze website on Jul 28 and she still cant find her name on breeze website (per Aug 29). Thank you

For Breeze it takes a while actually so no worries. It took 2 months until I got my physical card in the mail after I paid (I know it's pretty long...). But Breeze took longer I still couldn't see my name even though I had the card. Hope this helps

thank u for answering my questions :) wow that's a long time...2 mos :) were u able to work as an LVN before your card arrived? My DON won't allowed me to shadow the LVN while I'm waiting for my card. Mind you I'm applying at my workplace, I'm a CNA here for 4 years. I applied for my initial license on aug 24.
