NCLEX in 4 days, should I study the night before?

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

As I have stated in other articles I have posted, I am a new grad nurse who is about to take the NCLEX.

In just 4 short days (scheduled for the 23rd) I will be taking the NCLEX. I have a question to ask you all since you all have been through this.

Should I or should I not study the day before NCLEX? I am using Uworld for test prep and I have about 800 questions left to complete, I anticipate completing at least 500 of those 800.

I have heard that it is a good idea to just relax the day before and not to do any questions AT ALL. Do you all agree with this? Let me know below.

Also, any tips for relaxation are very much welcome.

Ive always studied the night before an exam, throughout the entire program.

I just took my exam on tuesday. Found out that i passed the following day. I studied the day before. You have to do what works for you. I wouldnt do too many, but i don't think there is any harm in reviewing a little something. Best of luck to you girly. You will pass! Just keep saying to yourself and thanking God for the license in Advance!

Congratulations on passing!!!! I've been praying every single day!! I think my plan is to do 100 questions in the morning and then have a completely free day.

I was a great student and knew the material well. However, I was a poor exam taker due to test anxiety. My study buddy, fellow nursing student and commuting partner knew this. The day of the exam she took me to a pier on Lake Michigan and walked the pier with me. It was beautiful and relaxing and lasted about 1 - 2 hours. It relieved my test anxiety and totally distracted me. We took the exam and I passed with 98%! This was a great distraction for me and it worked well as it put things in perspective for me. I still use this practice today when faced with tough decision making and problem solving. I hope this helps you. You will pass the exam if you tell yourself you will pass. Good luck!

I passed NCLEX my first try, in 75 questions last week! I tested on Tuesday morning. Saturday I did my final U World assessment, Sunday, I went through the questions I had missed on U World, and Monday morning I reviewed lab values and lifespan vital sign norms one more time. Then, no study from noon on Monday into Tuesday. My scores on U World were 73% overall and 98th percentile for passing. My advice is to do some nice relaxing things on Monday after lunch, do some positive affirmations on how smart and prepared you are, eat a good dinner and get a really good sleep. You are gonna do GREAT!!! When you sit down at the test computer, take some deep breaths, tell yourself you "got this" and begin. Read each question twice BEFORE looking at the answers and think about what the question is asking. Then make your best choice from the answers available and move on. If you don't know, do your best and move on. I know you can do this!!! Good Luck!
