I just found out my results

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I failed the NCLEX RN for the 2nd time. I cried for about 1 hour straight. I don't understand what I am doing wrong. I passed the LPN NCLEX with the minimum questions the 1st time. I just don't even feel like taking it for a 3rd time and now the passing standard is going up in april. Great! Can anyone help me or know what I am going through????? Any advice is appreciated!

Just follow Suzanne's plan and you'll do fine, she's helped alot of people and we're all rooting for you!!!!!!!!!

I also did'nt pass the nclex the second time around, I can relate to how u feel and what u r going through. They say the third time is a charm. I'm studying now more than ever before using saunders and suzanne's study plan.

1. I know it is easier said than done....but keep your head up. You made it through nursing school soooooo.....YOU KNOW THIS STUFF. What I suggest is that you work on applying that knowledge (WHICH I KNOW YOU KNOW) and focus on test taking skills. Obviously you are not narrowing the questions down to the two possible correct answers. I used the KAPLAN strategy book to help me narrow answers down. I liked it.

2. Also, Try Suzanne's first step if you havent already. I heard it works wonders.

3. I used the NCSBN extension course which cost me $50 for 3 weeks of review. It is alot of information (content) The way I weeded through it was to take the assessment exam and just review my weak areas. Even if you dont use NCSBN.. YOU NEED TO ASSESS YOUR WEAKNESSES AND FOCUS ON THEM!! Suzanne's plan goes over this I think.

I hope this helps!!! Im rooting for you!! You are not alone. There are some people that have taken NCLEX 5 times before they have passed. Please keep going until you pass!!

Love, Cynthia

I'm sorry to hear that you didn't not pass the 2nd time around, WE'RE IN THE SAME BOAT, HANG IN THERE (I WILL TRY 2 ALSO).

First of all you are not stupid. Failing the NCLEX does not make you stupid and anyone who would ever tell you that i stupid themselves. All it means is that you are having a hard time ruling out the distractors. Some people just aren't good at taking this kind of test and have to work harder to pass it. I don't know what you've used to study but I highly recommend the Kaplan strategies book as it really helps you to look at the q's and rule out answers. I also am a strong believer that doing alot of q's makes a big difference. I did well over 5000 q's (and I'm being modest cuz I think it's closer to 10000) before taking my test. That helped b/c I had a lot of meds I never would have known had they not shown up on previous practice exams. I would suggest taking a break before you get back in this and then set a goal w/your studying. If you're doing a comp. book set a goal on how many ch.'s you have to get thru a day and also a goal for how many q's you have to do a day. You survived nursing school so you can pass the NCLEX, it's just about learning how to answer the q's. You can do it and you will! You're NOT stupid
