For those who have taken NCLEX RN

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

My exam shut off at 75 questions and I thought the exam was fairly easy 😩 I only got 10-15 SATA and a TON of prioritization. I am so worried and anxious, can someone whose taken NCLEX who passed or failed please give me some straight talk.

I can't find my results anywhere!! :( It's been 48 hrs!! The personvue trick is still not taking my money so maybe a good sign but nothing posted on the VA board of nursing & if I don't see anything today then they surely won't be doing anything over the weekend !

how do you find out if you failed BTW?![/quote

when did you test? Va BON is closed today and Monday. I tested yesterday and no results posted so I called the 800 number. Official results will probably not post until Tuesday!

i tested on Wednesday the 11th!! Waiting till Tuesday is daunting !! I called the 800 it said it was closed? Did you get through? Thanks! And good luck! Hope you are feeling confident :)

I just got the recording saying they were closed. I feel a little better after getting the good pop up on the pvt trick. But not wanting to get excited in case it's wrong!! I felt okay about the test. I freaked or because it cut off at 75 or so. I thought I would get at least 100 questions! I felt like I knew some and there were some that I had no idea at all and made my best guess! I had about 20 SATA questions, a bunch or priority, 2 or 3 delegation and 2 or 3 infection control questions. I will be heartbroken if the pvt trick is wrong!

Good of luck to you!! Hopefully we will be able to find out Tuesday morning!!

it honestly sounds like you rocked it!! Not sure if it's true but I hear higher level questions means you are doing good above the level of minimum competence and it sounds like those are the questions you got!

Do you know how we find out if we failed though? Will it just not show up when they open on Tuesday? Or we'll get an email?

Im not sure, I was wondering that myself! There is a place on the Pearson vue site under my account that says something about exam result. (Right now it says result not available) so maybe it will be there?

I hope both of you passed. IF the PVT worked let me know because I will be checking it as well when I get done. I hope after all that waiting it's good news. LOL that's why I scheduled on a Tuesday so hopefully I will know by Friday if I'm good. I can't imagine waiting so long to find out.

The waiting is driving me crazy!!!

I live in California and took my test on Saturday January 14th at 2:00pm. Had 75 questions and at least 10 SATA, one math, and everything else was a blurr lol. There were a lot of questions where I felt that I completely did not know the answer to. It was to the point where I sang in my head the song "Jesus take the wheel, take it from my hand, cause I can't do it all my own." When it stopped at 75 questions my heart dropped and thought that I 100% failed the test. I was actually upset that they didnt give me more questions so I can prove to them that I know my stuff! I wasnt ready to end the test yet and walked out acccepting the thought that I failed.

About an hour after the test I did the PVT with accurate cc info and got the good pop up. Read that it may not be accurate if done before 24 hours after the test. So I tried again after 24 hours, then 40, then 3 days later (but this time using a visa gift card with only a few cents left in it) and still got the good pop up. The wait was a torture and i couldnt sleep at night because I was too stressed about it. I read multiple online posts about the pvt trick, hoping that it still worked and that I wasn't getting a false positive especially because I took it on a weekend.

Checked BON today (Tuesday at 1:30am) and saw that I was issued an RN license!

I consider myself an average student (maybe a little bit towards the lower end as compared to my classmates lol) who had a few A's and mostly B's and C's. All I used to study was UWorld. I did at least 60 questions a day and read all of the rationales for 2 weeks leading up to my test day. My performance stats were 55% and was in the 64th percentile. I took the one-time use Self assessment that came with Uworld on the day before the NCLEX. I got 57% with the average of the test at 55%, was placed in the 72nd percentile, and had a "very high" chance of passing according to it which definitely made me feel less anxious and gave me more confidence that I can pass the test. My friend who also used Uworld said that the questions were just like NCLEX's and that uworld's is actually harder. I definitely know that because of Uworld I passed so I do recommend Uworld!

I just called the BON they said they still don't have the results bc of the holiday and gave me pearsonvue number who was no help at all saying I have to wait 6-8 weeks since VA doesn't participate in quick results . This is nerve wrecking. Anxiety level= 10/10.
