Failed the NCLEX in Texas

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I found out yesterday that I failed the NCLEX through quick results from Pearson. :o I finally cried my eyes out multiple times and finally talking on the phone now :crying2: but I dont know what to say to people? I feel very :imbar that I failed because I did so well through school and I passed HESI and took the Kaplan course to prepare. I dont know what to tell my manager tomorrow and I am afraid that I will be kicked out of my internship program! I have plenty of distractions that have been going on in the last couple of months that have taken my away from my studies but is that really a good answer? I need some advice!!!

P.S. - Does anyone know what the minimum time is to retake the test in the state of Texas - I read 91 days but rumor has it as a new rule of 45?

Sorry to hear. It is 45 days. Good luck next time!!!

sending prayers your way!!!! oh, and also a big (((((hug))))))! keep your head up, you are a great nurse and no computerized test can take that from you!!!-tara :)

I found the Saunders 2nd ed. study CD very helpful. That is the CD that the three gals in my group studied from and we all passed. I also know of a another gal who studied from the Mosby CD and she passed. I'm so sorry you feel so awful. Please know that we are all here for you and know you will pass next time. Relax a while and take care of yourself first and have faith.

I'm super sad that you didn't make it. :o Chin up, wipe those tears away and tell NCLEX that you will make it next time. Oooooo I'm scared of you Sarah! You are now sounding way confident........ Keep the faith and take care of business next time.

Keep us posted!

Sarah,

I just took my NCLEX on July 3rd & found out through Pearson on the 5th that I too failed. I am in Texas & I was told by the board that I can retest in 50 days. You can double check. I'm back to studying again..keep your chin up, you can do it.

Soon-to-be 2nd time test taker,

Andrea

The good news is that Sarah looks like she did overcome the first attempt and succeeded in passing. Her post is nearly two years old and her profile says she's now an ER nurse. I hope this inspires you to continue studying and pass on the second go-round, Andrea.
