nclex debunk!!

Published

Hello everyone,

I have been visiting this website the past few days and am enjoying the different testimonies. I have already taken the nclex once, in august 09 and did not pass. I seriously don't understand the whole point of it besides what they state its for (To protect the public). Either way, I think what got the best of me was my anxiety when it kept going. I heard from so many their's stopped at 75. And from others that if it kept going, that means you are doing good and the computer is trying to help you out. Well, mine shut off at around 109 or something.. I think I was more happy about it being done then whether or not I got the last answer correct. Than of course, fail. I re=take in a few more days. I guess what got me the most was my anxiety and nerves. :banghead: I thought you couldn't take a break until after sitting there for 2 hours? I've been using the Hurst review, a some cd's i borrowed from friends, and the kaplan review book i am borrowing...

I guess what sucks is, I know what to expect and I'm afraid my nerves will haunt me again if I go beyond 100. Well, we'll see in a few days...any advice? :imbar

Take your time and read the question. Most times you can discard a couple of the answers leaving 2. Then consider ABC, Maslow etc and think positively.

Oh and the day before your exam do no studying and try to distract yourself and relax

Good luck

Yes. I understand your pain. Me too second time fail. I notice that time can be an issue for some of us that need extra time to answer the questions. My advice is that, first of all don't stress, stay calm, breathe. Answer the questions at your own pace. Walk in there determined to answer as many questions to the best of your potential and don't worry about the time, take as many breaks as you need, the computer needs at least 75 questions to make a decisions. The worst thing is to panic after you realize you didn't stop at 75 (as everybody wants) and start to rush to stay within the time limit, and compromise your performance in the process. Remember. Think of each question as if it is the one that will decide your test. One more thing: Don't tell anyone when you are taking your test again, it is nobody's business. This create an added unnecessary stress as others gather around to see "if you can make it this time" it's just you and god...very good luck to u
