Nclex anxiety,,, february 2012 test

Published

hey guys well im new to this website and i just wanted to tell you my story and why i am extremely scared of the nclex. i graduated LPN school August 2011 and being a resident of california makes it even better (sarcasm) i waited 4 months to get my board papers and being discouraged the result of that was me studying a very minimal amount. i feel like i have forgotten everything that i learned in LPN school :(..

my school has the ATI predictor exit exam and i did pretty well i got and 80% with a 99% pass rate for the NCLEX ....with all that time passed i dont know if that even applies to me anymore

ive been studying for 3-6 hours a day now starting the last weeks of december and i guess ijust need some guidance and some confidence put back into me

im terrified of failing and never passing the nclex!! THAT IS MY BIGGEST FEAR ...is the nclex really that hard? i need some insight !!! thanks! BTW i scheduled my nclex for feb 10th itll give me enough time to finish this Saunders Book and the questions on the CD i also bought exam cram and that kaplan test strategies book:uhoh3::bluecry1::uhoh21:

I got all 265 questions

nursedreamjob,

Try not to get nervous. I know it is really difficult, or shall I say, nearly impossible, but if you keep putting in the hours every day doing your practice NCLEX questions, you will be as prepared as you're going to be.

I can tell you that I was in your shoes. It took almost four months here as well. I found out I could register about 2.5 months post grad date at which time I set my date for 6 weeks later.

I was so desperate for more than just test questions, that I ordered hurst review, the on-line version. I can hostly tell you that I learned more from 5 weeks doing hurst review every day along with 100 test bank questions daily, than I did during the end of nursing school, where we had NCLEX review offered. I passed first try with 85 questions.

Hurst review was a little on the expensive side for this starving student, but it was worth every penny!

Best of luck to you!

Tick-tock. I took my NCLEX-PN 1/04/12 0800. I am sweating bullets. I don't feel at all like I did well on the test. I am praying that I pass. It's been 13 months since I completed LPN school and I think that long wait put me at a big disadvantage. On the flip side I have been picking the nurses brains on the floor where I work for the past year soooooooooo...........**fingers crossed**

...the real thing is nothing like those practice exams. jeez!

nursedreamjob: I can tell you that knowing your content is the biggest thing of all. You can answer questions everyday but how are u going to answer it if you dont know it. Yes its impossible to know everything but i am telling you thats the key. I myself have failed once going to take it again soon. But from all my friends who have taken it they say know your content and dont waste anytime. Where are u from? when did you graduate nursing school? I am taking HURST review and its the best review that i have taken yet. if you have any questions please let me know and we can always study together also using via skype if you like.

kimillersocal: Hurst review i am taking that right now and i can tell you that its worth it. i will be taking my exam soon still waiting for my ATT. what questions did you do with it?

im in the same boat as you! i graduated August 3rd, had my baby August 20th (wich makes 3 kids total!). i have been so wrapped up in the kid's lives i just havnt made time to study hardly anything. im scheduled to take my exam this saturday....im seriously thinking about rescheduling for february 4th. i just dont feel ready at all. my biggest fear with rescheduling will be that i want to do it again when test time comes around! :(

Hi Clueless28,

Regarding Hurst Review. I watched every single tutorial 3 times and took the 125 question tests twice, in addition, I continued to log onto q bank daily and did min. 50 questions, but usually did 50 in the morning and another 50 later in the evening.

I hope this helps :)

hi kmillerscocal

Thanks for the reply where do you live? i was wondering since we both are using the same review we could study together? if you live in another state we could skype and motivate each other.
