hey guys well im new to this website and i just wanted to tell you my story and why i am extremely scared of the nclex. i graduated LPN school August 2011 and being a resident of california makes it even better (sarcasm) i waited 4 months to get my board papers and being discouraged the result of that was me studying a very minimal amount. i feel like i have forgotten everything that i learned in LPN school ..
my school has the ATI predictor exit exam and i did pretty well i got and 80% with a 99% pass rate for the NCLEX ....with all that time passed i dont know if that even applies to me anymore
ive been studying for 3-6 hours a day now starting the last weeks of december and i guess ijust need some guidance and some confidence put back into me
im terrified of failing and never passing the nclex!! THAT IS MY BIGGEST FEAR ...is the nclex really that hard? i need some insight !!! thanks! BTW i scheduled my nclex for feb 10th itll give me enough time to finish this Saunders Book and the questions on the CD i also bought exam cram and that kaplan test strategies book:uhoh3::uhoh21:

I didn't think that the NCLEX was as hard as everyone made it out to be...but it was still hard. If yourself credit, you do remember more then you think that you do.
I have the exam cram book as well. I found that it was kind of boring and I would do so poorly when I would answer the NCLEX style questions at the back of each chapter. BUT, I think the first chapter that tells you what to look for while answering questions was very helpful and hold that near and dear to you!
Also, that saunders book will be your bestfriend. Well...throw the saunders book away and keep the CD. I thought that the book had way too much information that would stress me out trying to read that bad boy. The CD though, if you answer like 100-300 questions a day on study mode gets you in the right mindset to take your NCLEX.
That's pretty much all I did, that and made sure I knew my lab values and how to do dosage calculations. Practice a lot of those select all that apply questions, you might see a lot of those...if you know what I mean.
I give myself three weeks to study for my NCLEX. Took me 2.5 hours and I stopped at 86 questions and found out that I passed the very next day.
I hope this helps you somewhat. Good luck!

2bnurseforce1: what study materials are u using?
i am using the saunders cd and ncsbn[color=#234786]http://learningext.com/hives/534b38552a/summary
the first time i took the nclex i only used exam cram and it didn't really help me.
hey 2bnurseforce1....what were you lacking the first time?
The first time i took the test Dec 22, 2011 i got my results on the 28th and it gives you a breakdown of the content on the NCLEX and for each area it tells you either your Above passing, Below passing, or Near passing. Ever single one of mine said Near passing. So I don't really know what areas I am weak in. Its straight across the board nothing said below passing. So my plan is just to continue to study everything.

Hey 2bnurseforce1
What do you think bout learningext.com? Is it good? Im plannin to do it next week
I think it's great. It's very challenging but a great review I find the questions to be very similar to the ones on the NCLEX. Wish I would have known about it the first time I took it
2bnurseforce1: how many questions did you get on ur exam last time?
