NCCC students help!! Radiology and Nursing

U.S.A. New York

Published

I've been researching schools in New York for radiology and nursing and I was looking to get advice from people who may know about this school. First off, for both of these programs, do they have entry to the professional program for both fall and spring? How many students does each program take and how competitive is it? Also, according to their website, it seems like they accept credits from almost any school! Thats impressive but I might be wrong. I'm thinking about transferring from Trocaire college to here. The radiology program here is super competitive and only takes students in the fall. If you are an NCCC student, what advice do you have for me?.....P.S. I've already taken my anatomy classes, micro., and a bunch of other classes including physics and ethics, would these classes transfer?

Yeah it's trocaire college. I failed out of the RN program here as well, what are the odds they take me at nccc if I get my lpn?

Not sure if you're still an active member but can you tell me when you got your acceptance ?

Sorry I am responding so late, don't even worry about getting your lpn, just apply to the rn program before feb 1st. My friend got pulled off the wait list with a 2.7 gpa so just apply you never know. 3.0 and up is best but she got pulled in 2 weeks before classes so just try. And they won't count failing out of trocaire against you

Not sure who you are talking to..but for NCCC you will receive an acceptance letter after March 1st! ☺️

Never mind. I found out that school is not accredited and I'm in the lpn program now. I'll be applying to different schools for my RN but not NCCC.

What do you mean it's not accredited ? And good for you pursuing your lpn!

You know, I knew NCCC was a fishy school. Someone from addmissions told me that someone got accepted with a 2.25! That's crazy! You need at least a 2.75 in most other schools and even then there's no guarantee. Wouldn't graduating from a non accredited school give you problems if you moved out of state or decided to go to an accredited BSN program?

I found out by researching nursing schools on a list. It tells you everything about the school, nclex pass rate etc. NCCC is not accredited which is why they have low standards. I'm at Trocaire now for my lpn. I'm not sure if I'm doing my RN here too.

I graduated from NCCC, and I can definitely say it's a good program. I passed the NCLEX with the minimum 75 questions in 45 minutes. They get you prepared. Tons of people failed out of the program there while I was going. It's not easy and they don't have low standards. I personally know of 3 people in my class alone who failed the NCCC nursing program and went to Trocaire and passed. Also, the program is accredited. It is accredited through the NLNAC. I have had no issues whatsoever getting accepted into schools for my BSN. It's a popular and highly thought of program in this area.

Yeah I'm not sure where you heard that from but that's not true, NCCC has an awesome program. Employers look for graduates from nccc and I've never heard of anyone having any trouble getting into a Bsn program, and they are indeed accredited.

It says it's not accredited here in this link View complete list of New York Nursing Schools. Why do they have low standards according to the admission counselor. 2.3 gpa for a nursing program?! It's not possible to get accepted with that in any other nursing school.

I think you read that list wrong. It says NCCC is accredited. The column next to it, where it says "no", is for online programs. That is the only 'no' listed for NCCC.
