So they won’t accept me until I finish the courses, and get the results or they can accept me until I finish the courses

I can’t say if you’ll be accepted or not .. I don’t know the answer to that but the classes that you have in progress will not count towards your application

You can still apply. You don’t have to have all prerequisites done before applying. However, the more classes you have gives you more points therefore  more chances to get in. Good luck with your application 👍🏻

So can I start taking psy 206 and mat 102, and the rest of the prerequisites courses and then add them to the application or I have to wait and take them after they accept me in the program.

Following classes are prereqs for nursing:

  1. ENG 101 Composition I
  2. MAT 102 Introduction to Statistics
  3. PHI 110 Bioethics
  4. PSY 203 General Psychology I
  5. AHS 131 Anatomy and Physiology I
  6. PSY 216 Lifespan Human Development
  7. AHS 132 Anatomy and Physiology II
  8. AHS 202 Medical Microbiology
  9. BIO 131 Pathophysiology
  10. ENG 102 Composition II

You need to take them before applying to the Nursing program. Even though you don't have to have all 10 done before application, you have more chances of getting accepted into the program if you finish at least 6 classes. but remember, the more classes you have, the more chances to get in because Nassau uses a point system. For each class you took, you receive points according to the grade you get. (a grade of C or better.)

You also need to take the TEAS test and I guess you should get over 58.7 scores in each section. (Again, higher scores better). Plus if you're a Nassau resident, they will give you extra 5 points.

At the end whoever scores the most will be accepted into the program. To keep your chances of getting accepted into the program high, you should finish as many prereqs classes as possible with higher grades. (C or better).

I highly recommend you to attend Nursing Information Session. Professor Buckley will answer all of your questions and they will tell you what exactly they need and how the point system works.

Thank you so much I was so confused you helped me to understand so much.

Hi!
I was wondering if anyone here got accepted without taking any prereqs? I have only taken MAT 103 and 2 English courses that are on the rubric. Hoping I still have a chance with a high TEAS score.
