NC A&T ABSN 2021

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone! I am planning on applying to NCA&T ABSN program for 2021 and need some help. I haven’t taken the global health nursing course at A&t but I am hoping one of my other classes from my bachelors will count. Does anyone know what classes they have taken? Any information would help! I’d love to speak to someone in the program or graduated from the program to see what to expect and if you have any tips!

That's exciting news! I am glad it went well for you too. Do either of you know when the program starts?

Didn’t think to ask that one LOL but if someone asks, do let us know

If you did not receive a confirmation email on when your interview was scheduled then you did not sign up. Someone emailed me asking if I was still interested in the program because I didn't sign up. When on Doodle make sure to login to Doodle then select a time (I didn't the first time) and apparently my time slot didn't get marked off. So, login first then select the time.

So I checked the application portal because my application is still not complete due to 2 transcripts that should make it there this week.  I know I may be overthinking, but my major now says second major ABSN and I do not remember that being up there before. I've checked the portal frequently because I'm waiting on those transcripts to make it, so I was wondering if I'm truly overthinking, or has that always been there for everyone else???

so glad I found this thread, totally helpful.

Hey!

I just finished my interview. I was nervous, but I feel it went good. I lost connection 3x which was embarrassing but out my control because spectrum decides to do something in my area today. SMH The semester starts January 25th. As of right now they plan on it being face to face. Classes are M-F, and Saturday during the beginning. Clinicals will start in March. They are accepting a minimum of 30 students. Good luck to the others!

I’m glad it went well! I am excited and hope we all get in!

That’s good to hear, Thanks for the info!

Hello everyone....I have been reading your thread....very informative.  I am planning on applying to A&T ABSN program next year.  I am currently wrapping up my prerequisites.  I was hoping someone could advise on what classes you took for the Introduction to Human Nutrition and also Healthcare in a Global Society.  These classes are not offered  at my school.  Did you have to take them at A&T?

Also, did you have to take an African American Studies class for admission?

any other advice or tips would be appreciated, too!!

Thanks in advance and GOOD LUCK to all of you!!

I took Global Health at UNCG and it transferred over, you can email an advisor and ask about the global health class you’re taking and they will normally let you know, at least that’s what I did. As far as nutrition, I took that online at cleveland community college. No I didn’t take an African American studies class.

I took nutrition BIO155 at the community college and took global health at NCAT over the Summer.

Hey hey,

-I was able to take both of those courses online. Nutrition was through Durham Tech. I believe Healthcare in a Global Society has to be taken at A&T since it’s a nursing course.
-African American studies is not needed for admission to the nursing dept. Just the list of prerequisite courses.
-Do well in your prerequisites, get everything in and on time. My TEAS score was also very good.

We haven’t been accepted yet, so I may be able to give more advice at a later time! LOL
