Navy Nurse Corps 2024-2025

Published

Hi everyone!

I'm submitting a packet to hopefully direct commission into the Navy Nurse Corps. I have about 4.5 years of experience in a couple different specialties but I submitted for med/surg. It's been about a year process (some of that was me dragging my feet). I have gone to MEPS, submitted my background, and from what I was told my credentialing process is in "final review." I know that I have to do my two interviews but I'm not sure what else is left. There is a lot of helpful information about the interviews on Reddit but I'm looking for any insight to those have done direct commissioning. I'm a prior enlisted hospital corpsman but this process has been SO much different. A little more difficult in my opinion. Thanks everyone!

Congratulations!! Such a huge accomplishment!!
I knew you'd get it 👏💪

Now for the waiting game... My recruiter said within the next couple of weeks I should be getting sworn in and signing a lot of paperwork, and should hear from the detailer to get an ODS date and duty station orders.

Where are you hoping to go? Did you fill out the dream sheet?

I really want to go to Japan but I might go to San Diego for my first duty station. My son goes to school there and I want him to finish 6th grade. I also have someone willing to help me with my NP experience so that I can re-designate!

Congrats! What rank did they gave you?

My recruiter didn't say. Did you receive an email or did yours tell you!? I'll text him today.

Oh shoot okay I hope you hear soon too!

I got my selection news Monday but no mention of rank, did you guys got news with your rank also?’or when did you guys got the update about it. Thanks

@floRNda

Congratulations on your selection!! 💪🥳

It's been about 4 weeks since I found out I was selected and I still have not heard anything from the detailer or anyone else LOL!

Has anyone else gotten their ODS date/duty station or sworn in yet?  The suspense is killing me LOL

I'm in the same boat. Notified a few days after you and haven't heard yet.

Hey everyone!  Just checking in 😊

I was selected in January- and STILL haven't heard a thing. No oath, no orders, nothing.  Has anyone else heard anything?

I contacted my recruiter last weak and said we were waiting on my "FINSEL,” which means final selection? Hopefully soon- the anticipation of when I'm going to ODS and where I'm going afterward is killing me!

FINSEL is pending the completion of your security clearance and final review of your MEPS documents.

...still Nothing

I received my scroll about 2 weeks ago. Long story short, since they only take half of BSN experience and no ADN, I only got O1e. I am 2 months away from graduating with my MSN-FNP and I told my recruiter I don't want to accept O1. He's pissed of course and says that if I want to submit my degree: "it's too difficult and I can't promise you anything since congress already approved you as 01. It's only 2 and 1/2 years until you're O3 just accept it." I'm unsure what to do from here but as prior enlisted I know better than to accept that and I'd rather discontinue this process LOL. If anyone has any advice I'm open but I'm still deciding on what to do.
