  1. @DakotaPartin or anyone else who knows ? How long do you have after ODS and the training in Bethesda to report to your duty station? Also, when do we start getting paid? After we swear in or once we are in ODS?
  2. @DakotaPartin That's amazing that you have your ODS date!! How did it go when you talked to the detailer about orders? Did they ask when you wanted to go to ODS or did they tell you what they had available? And for the duty station- did you request San Diego and get it? I'm waiting by my phone for it to ring like I'm waiting for the winning lottery numbers to be announced ? I'm still hoping to go to ODS this Summer- hopefully June or July! Also, did you ever receive any mail/packet detailing your rank or ODS details?
  3. Hey everyone! I submitted my packet for the January board and was notified by my recruiter about a week later on 01/24 that I was selected! I waited THREE months for my FINSEL (Final Selection letter) that just came in on 04/08. My recruiter said they are back logged and taking a longer for documents to be uploaded. Now I am waiting for my commissioning documents to swear in and a call from the detailer. I'm still hoping to go to ODS in July. Thanks for the update- it's a long and lonely road when no one else I know is going through the process! And it helps me keep my recruiter accountable and checking on my documents if I tell her "someone I know just received theirs,” LOL
  4. @Erick G This process is definitely not for the weary LOL- Hurry up and WAIT is the name of the game!! Did your package go through the March board? My package went to board January 15th- I heard back on January 24th that I was selected...but since then I've heard NOTHING. I am currently in the scrolling process- waiting for my FINSEL to be completed so I can swear in and get orders. Definitely seems like things from January forward have been moving pretty slow!! Hang in there- hopefully you hear something soon!
  5. @DakotaPartin I have had my MSN-FNP since 2020 with about 8 years of BSN experience and I got O2-e. I was initially disappointed, but I am still moving forward with my selection due to the HORRIBLE staffing ratios RN side and in my personal experience- low paying NP jobs for the amount of work hours/liability. Plus, in general the civilian patient population is a hard one to serve with the HTN, DM, and low income with few resources...military side we would be dealing with a much more healthy and younger patient population over all. I considered submitting my packet as NP, but my resume is more competitive on the RN side and there are always so few NP open billets for the Navy...my recruiter said there were TWO for this YEAR. My plan is to get in as RN and then work with the career counselor and/or detailer to assist with crossing over to NP. Also- I was told that your MSN degree & FNP (after you pass boards) will be added to your qualifications (I forgot the the exact term they used) and would definitely be a huge push for making O4, as everything before that rank is solely time in grade.
  6. ...still Nothing
  7. Hey everyone! Just checking in ? I was selected in January- and STILL haven't heard a thing. No oath, no orders, nothing. Has anyone else heard anything? I contacted my recruiter last weak and said we were waiting on my "FINSEL,” which means final selection? Hopefully soon- the anticipation of when I'm going to ODS and where I'm going afterward is killing me!
  8. @floRNda Congratulations on your selection!! ?? It's been about 4 weeks since I found out I was selected and I still have not heard anything from the detailer or anyone else LOL! Has anyone else gotten their ODS date/duty station or sworn in yet? The suspense is killing me LOL
  9. @DakotaPartin Congratulations!! Such a huge accomplishment!! I knew you'd get it ?? Now for the waiting game... My recruiter said within the next couple of weeks I should be getting sworn in and signing a lot of paperwork, and should hear from the detailer to get an ODS date and duty station orders. Where are you hoping to go? Did you fill out the dream sheet?
  10. @bj_flightnurse I am really hoping for Yokosuka, Japan!! How does the Pack-out for home goods work? Will the Navy come pack my house out before ODS or after?
  11. @DakotaPartin Hang in there!! If your packet was submitted end of November- there was no December board due to holidays- it should have been looked at for the January 15th board. My recruiter said she got the results like close of business Friday and then called me. Fingers crossed Monday is your day!
  12. @bj_flightnurse I found out today I was selected!! I am also coming in as O-2E and am looking forward to seeing the breakdown in the "Entry Grade Credit worksheet,” you talked about. Awesome info and I appreciate the insight of what to expect and the timeline! My recruiter doesn't give out many details LOL Now that I've been selected, I'm anxiously waiting to find out my ODS date and duty station. Did you get your first pick for duty station? This is going to be a different experience for me working with a detailer- I didn't get that benefit when I was enlisted LOL! How did it work? Did you say your ideal location and they looked to see if they had an opening? Or was it more, "we have these options- pick one,”? Also- as far as picking orders- do you get any say on the position, or at this level are all the orders straight to the inpatient floors? Do you know any info regarding the sign-on bonus pay out? Love the picture! How amazing that you were able to swear in at the Iwo Jima Memorial! I didn't know we could pick where to swear in...definitely food for thought. I can't wait to swear in!
  13. UPDATE: I found out today that I was selected!! My recruiter called and said that I have been selected and will come in as O2e!! Timeline: - Packet submitted first week of December for January 15th board -Phone call 01/24 that I was selected!
  14. @DakotaPartin I was a Logistic Specialist when I was enlisted! For my FNP clinical hours, getting my foot in the door- I worked as a GS in Hawaii at the military hospital as a RN. The military MDs/NPs, etc. are amazing and will be happy to help- they assisted with me getting my FNP experience.
  15. @BeaBea I had 2 interviews, one with a CAPT and one with an LCDR. They were both great- the Captain's background was in L&D and she was the CO of a DC clinic. She said that L&D nurses are in high demand and she sees billets for them daily. She said there isn't a deployment schedule to a sea/shore rotation, but that we usually stay at a duty station for 2 years and have a lot of freedom to move around between working the floor, management, teaching, clinic, etc. She said she absolutely loves her life as a Navy Nurse and made me really excited. I haven't been offered a rank yet, although I'm expecting O2-e or O3-e.
