I' d like to connect with other Navy NCP FY 2014 students. There was a thread started awhile back about someone starting a FB page for us but no one replies to the 'friend request' :-( Any 2014'ers out there?
I live in IL, married with children, and my husband is a retired Seabee. I graduate April 2014, hope to take the NCLEX in June '14.
I'm also affected by a delay until May....wondering if anyone else that put in their kit in Oct also experienced this...
My brother was in 29 Palms...drove him nuts...he was stir crazy there! I'm in Northern IL now...at Great Lakes...I'd like to head east. I was told new grads never get to go OCONUS for first duty station. Ya never know, though!
Anyone have something...a specialty...they want to do? Attached to a particular unit...?
I finally filled out my DPS sheet I was really starting to get worried about that. I put Portsmouth, Bethesda, San Diego :) Now if I can just handle waiting the couple of months to find out where I will actually be going!
slc1984 - That's great news! Were you contacted by a detailer for that, or did you have to take initiative and contact them yourself? I've emailed the generic medical accessions email several times asking about this and I haven't heard anything back yet. I figure it's coming down to the end here quick, I don't want to miss my opportunity! Anyways, I hope you get your first choice!
I ended up having to call them. She said that I was on her list and she sent it to me already, but unless it went to spam and I didn't notice, I never got it.
Anyone learning anything new about any of this stuff? I think I'm on the mailing list now so I should be getting all the information I'm supposed to be getting but just wanted to check in.
Nothing new so far, finally got my DPS email after calling to check in on it. Other than that there hasn't been anything else new on my end. I put San Diego, Bethesda, then Portsmouth...I'm assuming it will be a while until we get notification of our first duty station, but everyone try to post where they end up on this thread! I haven't heard anything new either. Like StudentForever77, I'm just doing school stuff right now. I haven't heard anything about my DPS yet, but I think that's okay since I don't graduate until May 2014. I'll email them if I get to mid/end of the semester and don't hear anything. I'm hoping for Bethesda (#1) or San Diego (#2).
I was reading some of the comments and was wondering if i am considered fy 14 or fy 15. I submitted my package last month and graduate dec 2014. Also, any word on when the board is meeting and the number seats they are filling this time around.
Congrats on heading to Portsmouth, slc1984! :) I don't know where I'm going yet...haven't even filled out the paperwork. I'm assuming that'll come closer to my graduation (May 2014). Still hoping for Bethesda. What about everyone else? Do any of you guys know where you're headed?
