Navy NCP FY2014 'Role call'

Hi all,

I' d like to connect with other Navy NCP FY 2014 students. There was a thread started awhile back about someone starting a FB page for us but no one replies to the 'friend request' :-( Any 2014'ers out there?

I live in IL, married with children, and my husband is a retired Seabee. I graduate April 2014, hope to take the NCLEX in June '14.

I'm also affected by a delay until May....wondering if anyone else that put in their kit in Oct also experienced this...

I have mine tomorrow!

I took my oath this morning! So exciting! I had it done on an Air Force base since that was closest to me and I couldn't believe how special they made the day for me!

Sorry it's such a late reply but yes, my recruiter said they weren't able to choose very many due to budget cuts. He also told me that hundreds applied (I can't remember if he said 400 or 700.. I know big difference so please don't quote me!). I just got sworn in yesterday so I am very excited it's all official!

@slc1984 whoops! I assumed San Diego.. Haha, anyone else from California!?

My recruiter told me they filled all the spots? haha. maybe none of them really know lol. He did also say that there are tons on the waiting lists waiting to take our spots if we do something to lose them :)

I just swore in this morning. Now it's 100% official! :) Mine was at the Navy building on Fort Carson. It was very cool. My parents couldn't come because they were busy, so my recruiter rounded up a whole bunch of Navy people to watch me. I couldn't be more happy right now!

Did anyone fill out a dream sheet and put their top 3 yet? I feel like I should have done it with the rest of the paper work but I didn't and just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. I'm so afraid of not handing something in on time!

I don't think any of us have done the "dream sheets" yet. I think it's normal to fill them out the semester before you graduate.

I graduate in december, that's why I'm worried! I just don't want to have a chance at a choice if it's possible lol

I'm not sure, but I think we fill out the dream sheets a few months before we graduate. I can see why you would be nervous though. As if graduating wasn't stressful (and exciting!) enough, you've now got to worry about where you're moving too! Have you emailed your recruiter yet? He might be able to tell you. You could also try the OH people. (I'm not sure if we turn in our dream sheet to the OH people or to our recruiter, but whichever one it is should know! :) ) Have you decided what you're putting down as your top 3?

I just looked at the NCP website (Nurse Candidate Program (Current Students)), and it says that the dream sheets are completed 6-7 months prior to graduation. They should send an email to you with the form and have you send it back. I would wait a few weeks and then email them about it if they do not contact you. I think you will end up sending it to the Registrar. Her contact info is included in the massive "Welcome to the NCP!!!" email, which should have been sent to you a week or two ago.

Wow, yeah... no welcome email for me I guess lol. Who was it from?
