Navy NCP FY2014 'Role call'

Hi all,

I' d like to connect with other Navy NCP FY 2014 students. There was a thread started awhile back about someone starting a FB page for us but no one replies to the 'friend request' :-( Any 2014'ers out there?

I live in IL, married with children, and my husband is a retired Seabee. I graduate April 2014, hope to take the NCLEX in June '14.

I'm also affected by a delay until May....wondering if anyone else that put in their kit in Oct also experienced this...

wow, I haven't actually been on that site in awhile! They have added a ton of new information! I guess I'll call my recruiter tomorrow and see if he is aware of an email I was supposed to of gotten. What was included in the email?

I forwarded the email to you in a PM. It included general information about what's expected of us while we're in the program (e.g., maintaining 3.0 GPA, updating changes in our contact info, etc.). It also had contact information like 5-6 people in the OH office. (I don't know what OH stands for.) I got mine 19 days after signing on, so I'm surprised you haven't gotten one yet. Have you started receiving other benefits (like pay)? If not, maybe they just don't have you in the system yet. I would email your recruiter and ask what's up.

Yeah, I've gotten my bonus and 2 paychecks. Been told to fill out a couple of other forms (school year something or other, dependent list) Maybe the guy working with me in the OH office just isn't as verbose :D

Thank you by the way!

Well if they're paying you, you're definitely in the system! I'm sure everything is okay and they'll have you complete the dream sheet in due time. It's so exciting how close we all are to graduating and becoming real live Navy nurses!

I don't know if I'd still be counted for the FY14 if I don't graduate until Dec. '14. Either way I'm still trying to put my packet together. I go to MEPs on the 24th. I'm so excited to see you guys got in, swore in, and are now just waiting to graduate! Congratulations on being selected! I'll be around, lurking, like always it seems, lol.

Good luck with your application, Teetah! Hopefully you'll be joining us soon! :)

Teetah,

From what I understand, a Dec 14 grad date will put you in the 2015 NCP program...because the Navy's FY begins 1 OCT. Good luck!! :-)

I graduate dec. 2013 and I am in the FY14 group so dec. 2014 would be in FY15. I hope, otherwise I'm all sorts of discombobulated :)

Hey everyone! I came across this thread and figured I would introduce myself - I'm graduating December 2013 as well and signed my papers May 3rd for the NCP, so I will be with you guys that are considered FY 2014! Pretty excited. I haven't received anything about the dream sheets yet either...that's kind of why I came to this website to see if any of you had either. Sounds like no, I emailed my recruiter this morning so if I hear anything I will be sure to post it. I'm living in San Diego right now, anyone else out this way? Where is everyone from?

Hi MG_RNDec13. Welcome to our group! I hope you get to fill out your dream sheet soon. That's one of the things I'm most excited about! I already know what I'm picking - #1. Bethesda #2. San Diego #3. Somewhere Abroad (Guam or Japan) if they let me! I'm live in Colorado Springs, but I love to travel. That's one of the main things that drew me to the Navy. What are you guys putting down on your dream sheets?

Thank you for the welcome! I'd love to travel as well, that was also part of my draw to join the Navy. I was curious - if they did by chance allow a new grad RN to go abroad, do they have adequate new grad training programs in place? I have only really heard about San Diego, Bethesda, and Portsmouth as "starting points" but I know that's not the case. I've heard through the grapevine of a few people who have gone to Camp Pendleton (about an hour north of San Diego...right near where I actually grew up therefore not my ideal choice when it comes to traveling!) and 29 Palms (out in the middle of nowhere/desert marine base...yuck). Any other spots you all have heard of?
