Hello to all and so sorry for the long absence. PLEASE NOTE this only refers to Direct Accession. I will address Reserves in a seperate post.

The only current openings that remain are for the subspecialties of 1972 CRNA, 1981 Midwife, and 1920 Labor and Delivery. Critical Care 1960 should be closing very soon. If you have not yet started a kit you will not be eligible for this year. If you think your kit should be submitted soon, then I urge you to engage your recruiter because once we close this SSC we will not open it again until FY16.

All other SSC's are closed for direct accession and will not be accepted until FY16 if we recieve quotas to allow accessions to be considered.

The current board will meet later this month and results will be put out to the recruiters sometime during the first week of December. Please know that all times and dates are subject to change, so be flexible. Your recruiters will let you know as soon as we give them the information.

Good Luck to all who are at the November board, and if there are any of you out there who fit the open SSC's listed above, please reach out to a recruiter in your area if you desire information.

Ciao Ciao,

Thank you for all the information, this has been super helpful. Good luck in ODS and congrats!

Yes, like vinstafa, im also being brought in without a budget in place...ive already signed the accession bonus form and should be hearing from the detailer this week..my recruiter whos super awesome notified me last week...just waiting on that final select letter!

I just thought I'd let y'all know that I heard from my recruiter today. No word on an accession plan as of yet so it looks like it's still the waiting game for me. I did hear that rumors that the alternates would be automatically rolled into next FY (if there is a need for the particular subspecialty) and my recruiter confirmed it today. It is something to look forward to however, I have not yet lost hope for this FY!

Did he/she state when or if there was a rough timeframe as to when the decision would be made regarding the accession plan? It is my understanding everything is in the hands of "Big Navy".

Unfortunately, no. He said "no signed accession plan" and that "there are a lot of decisions at a high level that are still being made". If I hear anything I will be sure to let you know!!

Just recieved my orders!!! i elected to go to ODS in May so ill be commissioning in April..

thought ide update u guys! goodluck to everyone!!!

Good news! Be happy you aren't coming in the winter. Having to shovel snow for 24 hours is no fun, especially with sustained winds of 50+mph. On the bright side, we did get off class for two days and successfully constructed the USNS McFluffy out of 11 mattresses.

Can someone tell me how long it took for their packet to get processed? My reserve recruiter said she can do it in three weeks. Is this doable? I'm going to be cutting it short for this fiscal year. I have to switch my field of expertise, get several months in that field, and then apply.

Has anyone who hasn't gone to ODS yet hear anything regarding the accession budget?

I was told the accession plan as been signed. The numbers were very small this FY. I was selected as an alternate so it's still a waiting game for me. The numbers are : 7 ICU, 2 L&D, 4 midwives, 4 CRNA, 1 med/surf, 1 ER, and 1 Peds. My recruiter said there is still a chance but we'll see...

Hopefully everything works out for both you and I navywifeRN! :)

I hope so too...
