Navy Active Duty FY15

Hello to all and so sorry for the long absence. PLEASE NOTE this only refers to Direct Accession. I will address Reserves in a seperate post.

The only current openings that remain are for the subspecialties of 1972 CRNA, 1981 Midwife, and 1920 Labor and Delivery. Critical Care 1960 should be closing very soon. If you have not yet started a kit you will not be eligible for this year. If you think your kit should be submitted soon, then I urge you to engage your recruiter because once we close this SSC we will not open it again until FY16.

All other SSC's are closed for direct accession and will not be accepted until FY16 if we recieve quotas to allow accessions to be considered.

The current board will meet later this month and results will be put out to the recruiters sometime during the first week of December. Please know that all times and dates are subject to change, so be flexible. Your recruiters will let you know as soon as we give them the information.

Good Luck to all who are at the November board, and if there are any of you out there who fit the open SSC's listed above, please reach out to a recruiter in your area if you desire information.

Ciao Ciao,

Congrats DMendoza! Thanks for the message. I haven't posted enough on allnurses to reply to a pm. I am also commissioning in April and heading to ODS in May. I've been assigned to Naval Hospital Pensacola. I'm a little jealeous ;) aside from commuting, Bethesda should be pretty awesome. See you at ODS!

Dmendoza: Argh...again, I can't reply to any private messages since I haven't posted enough on allnurses. If you send me a pm with your email I'd be happy to reply :)

NavywifeRN, have you heard anything regarding when you'd be possibly commissioning?

Currently, I am still an alternate. I just spoke with my recruiter last week and he notified me there are no changes as far as the need for ER nurses. He also is unaware of the number of alternates that were selected so I really am not sure where I stand. He did say if there are positions available next FY I'll automatically get it but it also depends on how many positions are available and how many alternates were selected. I'm still hoping I'll hear some good news soon.

What about you? Have you heard any news?

I'm in the same boat as you navywifern, no pun intended haha...as far as I was informed by my recruiter I should commission in October. I was credentialed for critical care.
