Navy Active Duty FY15

Published

Hello to all and so sorry for the long absence. PLEASE NOTE this only refers to Direct Accession. I will address Reserves in a seperate post.

The only current openings that remain are for the subspecialties of 1972 CRNA, 1981 Midwife, and 1920 Labor and Delivery. Critical Care 1960 should be closing very soon. If you have not yet started a kit you will not be eligible for this year. If you think your kit should be submitted soon, then I urge you to engage your recruiter because once we close this SSC we will not open it again until FY16.

All other SSC's are closed for direct accession and will not be accepted until FY16 if we recieve quotas to allow accessions to be considered.

The current board will meet later this month and results will be put out to the recruiters sometime during the first week of December. Please know that all times and dates are subject to change, so be flexible. Your recruiters will let you know as soon as we give them the information.

Good Luck to all who are at the November board, and if there are any of you out there who fit the open SSC's listed above, please reach out to a recruiter in your area if you desire information.

Ciao Ciao,

Has anyone heard anything new since last week?

Nothing yet, just patiently waiting to hear anything any day now.

I just got a call from my recruiter who said I got selected. Woop Woop! Unfortunately she said that I was an alternate, meaning if I can't get into ODS this year I am guaranteed a spot next year:) According to her, because their was no quota last year they only accepted 20 active duty positions this year. Just wanted to give you guys an update. Hope you all hear good news as well soon!

I was told nothing is final without an accession budget, so I'm not getting overly excited right now. I was prorec'ed, no alternate. As far as he knows, that means I am selected, but not the final go. Looks like 27 months of persistence might have finally paid off!

do they need med/surg nurses? Can someone answer that for me? Thanks

Ive been selected as an alternate. Its not a "no" so im not giving yp yet! Im hoping when the accession plan is approved that there is more than one position open for 1945! Best of luck to everyone!! Hopefully I'll be joining those who have been selected at ODS!!

Hey everyone! My amazing recruiter told me i was prorec'd!!! Not an alternate, but nothing is final until the budget is signed...hopefully this is good?? Goodluck to everyone!!

Is anyone going to the January 11 ODS?

Like several of you, I was also informed by my recruiter that I was professionally recommended, but that until a budget was finalized and quotas released I would remain in Navy limbo. I have not yet heard if any positions were finalized, if anyone has any updates please feel free to share and ease my anxious mind. Thanks and good luck to all.

I am scheduled to go to the January 11 ODS. A few positions are being taken without a budget approval yet. I think they are taking people in waves.

Vinstafa if you don't mind me asking, when did you find out you were selected?

Officially, 12/2, I was told I was selected. A day later I was told I was being selected without the budget approved, and was told by my recruiter I should hear from the detailer within a few weeks. Actually heard from him on 12/4, made my decision and now just waiting for paperwork. Should have my orders tomorrow, but can't get sworn in until after the new year because the processor for my recruiter is off until then. I was told I was enrolled in the January 11 ODS. I think they are just taking people in waves and not all at once.
