NAU's BSN application deadline

i've asked before if anyone was applying to northern arizona universities' accelerated bsn program, and didn't really get a response. so i don't expect much now, but today is the application deadline and i wanted to see who will be anxiously waiting for their letter, like me?!?!?!

i wonder how long it will take for them to make their decisions, and when the letters will be mailed. good luck to anyone else out there! :yeah:

Hello,

Are you applying this January 2010? Is anyone out there applying for the NAU accel this app period? What about U of A? I am applying and just wanted to compare notes and if anyone has NAU accl experience could you share some tips or tell what it's like and how they feel about their experience? Thanks

Hello,

I am applying this Jan 2010 to the NAU accelerated and wanted to open up a forum for applicants and graduates or current students to share their experiences. Is there anyone that is applying to the U of A accl program? ANY comments are appreciated. I am already excited about getting back into nursing school. I was in a ADN program several years ago and had a little taste and want to continue, but in a BSN program and with a better school. For me, the accl programs are the way to go. Please share!!!:D

Did you ever get in? I am applying this Jan 2010. Looking for students and applicants to share notes.

How is NAU? I never read or hear anything on these boards about it! Are you doing the RN-BSN or Traditional BSN program?

Neither. I am in the accelerated BSN program for second degree seekers. All of us have a previous Bachelor's degree in another study. I am loving it and can't believe that I'm already 40% done!!! I really like NAU and think they are very laid back yet understand what it is that we need to know to graduate. There are flaws, of course, but every program has some so I'm not complaining in the least. I'm honestly suprised that more people don't head on up to Flagstaff and chose to wait it out in Maricopa instead. Crazy if you ask me:smokin:

Is it very competitive? How was the HESI? I'm thinking of applying for the Fall 2011 semester (b/c I finish all pre-reqs and also get my Associate's in Arts in Fall 2010) :)

It is competitive but they get less applicants than ASU, U of A, or the Community colleges because they are so rural. The HESI was easy for me but not so easy for others... It all depends on what you know. Go for it!

Hey, I am applying for accelerated program for summer 2010. I did pretty well on HESI ( (95%) but am wondering if you would mind sharing your hesi and gpa. I am so nervous about getting in, I know schools are so competitive right now. how many students are in your classes? how are you liking everything?

I got a 95.6 on my HESI and my pre-req GPA was a 3.84. I had A's in Micro and AnP 1&2. Those are the pre-reqs they weigh heavily. I'm liking the program so far. It has it's minor problems, but so does every school. They treat the accelerated students with a lot of respect, as they know we are all educated and many of us are older. Not saying they treat the traditional students any worse...I just know that I'm being treated well. The accelerated program has 30 students in it. We have lost 2 so far, so we're now down to 28. Good luck!!!
