NAU Nursing Fall 2016

Published

I thought I would start this blog for the NAU spring 2016 nursing program application cycle!

I take the Kaplan exam on March 11th and the application is due during spring break. (March 15th)

Just want to know who else is out there apply this cycle :)

Ok so I'm assuming the people that didn't get in haven't gotten emailed yet. I don't want to lose hope but that's what it looks like.

I don't know anyone who has gotten into Yuma campus.. No one talks about the Kaplan at all here..so I have no feedback for ours

I'm really hoping to figure out tomorrow :)

I wouldn't loose hope just yet!

What did you guys select as your first and second choices?

1) Flagstaff

2) Yuma

I did 1) American Indian Program and 2) Flagstaff

Let me know when you guys get your emails :) :D

I'm wrapping up my third semester of the program in Flagstaff. Good luck to you all! I remember how excited I was to get my acceptance email. I had to leave the class I was in I was so excited.

Does anyone know why some people got emailed and some didn't?

Thank you jnsn :)

How are you liking the program so far?

And is there any advice that you can give us?

I love it. This semester has been the best so far (advanced med/surg), because we got to do all our ICU clinicals.

As for advice, just remember everyone studies and learns differently. They will stress you really have to read all of the assigned chapters, or at least skim them. That has worked great for some, but I personally haven't even opened my books and have only gotten one B in the program so far. Just find out what works for you! For me- that's just watching YouTube videos, reading over my lecture notes, and doing 100's of NCLEX practice questions. Don't let other classmates freaking out about how many hours they spent reading pressure you into feeling like you have to be studying for a certain amount of hours to be successful. It's just not true.

Best of luck- NAU has a terrific program, and I have really enjoyed it thus far.

I hope you all get acceptance emails tomorrow! I'll cross my fingers for you. :)

I only applied for Yuma, I'm not flexible to move haha

Thank you Jnsn for all the great information! I really hope we get our emails tomorrow! :)

Jnsn, have you worked at all while in the program?
