Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi all,

I am applying to the BSN program at national this month & wanted to start a feed to see if there's anyone else out there applying/preparing for TEAS, etc!

That is such great advice! I'm stressing out for sure! You say don't buy the books, and that the lectures (except pharm) are useless for information? Where do I learn things? Haha

What I was trying to communicate in my post is that many of these classes have very vague outlines of what the exam material will be. If you find the classes on quizlet, THESE are accurate and the exam material is very relevant to what previous students have put there. It's not that the book is worthless, it's just way more than you need to know, and the lectures are not nearly enough, so you will find yourself kind of stuck in the middle trying to figure out what to study. I also don't know your background, or if you have been in the medical field in the past.

I am going to have to try from my computer because it isn't even giving me an option to message you. This really is amazing advise and I am so incredibly grateful! I work in transport at Scripps Mercy so I have some background. However, I am transport/lift team so it is limited to what I know to ask haha I already have a stethoscope and have the scrub cheats cards! I'm also a work horse when it comes to school so I am trying not to underestimate the workload. Thanks so much for all of the help! What cohort are you?

Hey guys! Today I applied into nationals cohort (58) this is for the accelerated post bachelor program. Elizabeth calculated my gpa and said it's 3.60 so 36 points. (Thanks for the b in lab and c in lecture for micro) I received A's in all the others. I take the TEAS with ATI on 10/29 and am beyond terrified. I bought the complete ATI package and have been reviewing and it's a lot!! After going through this forum I am now even more terrified of the TEAS and the essay prompt. Elizabeth told me to stay competitive I need a 88 but could go 84-88... and and 4-4.5 on the essay. She said the last cohort was 150 applicants the averages were a 90 for the teas , total points 88, and essay 4.5. Any thoughts/advice on this?! I have so much anxiety as everyday passes. I'm studying 4-6 hours a day for the teas! Please let me know!
