National University SD Cohort 55 - July 2018

Published

Hi all,

I am applying to the BSN program at national this month & wanted to start a feed to see if there's anyone else out there applying/preparing for TEAS, etc!

Hello,

I just submitted my application this week and took my TEAS exam on the 12th. All I have left to do is the proctored essay. I wonder how many applicants there will be for our cohort this time??

Awesome! How did your TEAS go?? I'm taking mine at SDSU at the end of this month.

In the info session I went to said they expect a lot of applicants to this cohort since all other schools finished classes in December, so a lot of transfer students apply in addition to current NU students /:

I feel good about my TEAS. I got an 89.3% That's in the 98th percentile nationally so I don't think I could ask for much more, but I know it's CRAZY competitive so I just hope its good enough.

What is your GPA?

wow that's a great score though!

I think it's 3.49 if I am calculating correctly. Could be better but I don't think it's too terrible.

You're going to need at LEAST 3.5 or higher on your essay to get in. Brainstorm essay topics and write a practice essay. The cutoff was almost 85% last time, so an essay of 3.5 would get you to that percentage. Good luck, you're definitely very close to the goal!

Do either of you know how to calculate your actual point value from your gpa?

Yes. It's gpa/4 x .4= A

Teas/100 x .4 = B

Essay/5 x .2 = C

Then, add A,B,C for your score

I applied for cohort 55 as well. I had applied to cohort 54 but didn't get in. I had a total of 81.95 points so I'm going to retake the TEAS and really focus on my essay writing.

Are you a current NU student? I heard a lot of people are utilizing the writing center to get help on the essay so I was thinking of doing that since it seems like the essay portion can be a deal breaker!
