National University SD Cohort 39

Published

Hello, Im creating a thread for those who are applying to National University SD cohort 39 starting july 2014. I figured we can all post our experience through this process of applying.

yes please let me know what classes they are. I just finished Spn 340A (spanish for the workplace), Currently in Hub 500(Cross-Cultural Dynamics) and in April i will be taking Spn 341(Cross-Cultural Communication)

I have been told that SPN 340, SPN 341 and SOC 100 will not be necessary anymore beginning with Cohort 40. I am not sure about BIO Stats. Can anyone else provide feedback on what they have heard or read?

Praying big time!

Kris1022 when did you take the test?

Here is what I got from my advisor

Hope this helps! I am keeping my fingers crossed we don't even have to worry about it though : )

I took my test on 1/31. I just spoke to my advisor and he gave me the same info as jennaready86 posted. What I don't understand is that if we get accepted to this cohort will these classes need to be finished to obtain our bachelors? My understanding before this change was that if all pre-reqs, nursing classes, and Spn 340A (spanish for the workplace), Hub 500(Cross-Cultural Dynamics) and Spn 341(Cross-Cultural Communication) were completed that is when we would get out bachelors.

:madface:I just paid $1512 plus the book for a spanish class that won't count nor transfer to another school.

Hello, Cohort 39;-)

I hope everyone here is going to get accepted:yes:

I was accepted as an alternate for cohort 38.

Does anyone know how many alternates there are??

Good luck everyone

So does that mean that scores of 80 or 79 won't make it into the program??

I believe the scores will depend on those of us applying to this cohort. it could be lower or higher than last cohorts.

I keep checking this page every time I get on my computer lol Ugh this waiting game :banghead:

same here i check this and the portal like 5 times a day,,, I wish it was the end of Feb already.

@Kris1022,

I think these classes only apply to cohort 40 and later. A while back, at a JC I attended the school changed their graduation criteria. This had nothing to do with admission to a nursing program, it was simply graduation criteria for an AA. Some students were ready to graduate however and this would have impacted them negatively. What the school did was only enforce the policy on new entering students and for those who were already working a prior program those classes still applied. In other words, the school allowed students to continue on with whatever CATALOG was in force at the time the student began his/her program if the student kept on track with their ED PLAN and had no lapse in attendance and was in good standing. They called this being grandfathered in. This made sense to me at the time.
