Hello, Im creating a thread for those who are applying to National University SD cohort 39 starting july 2014. I figured we can all post our experience through this process of applying.
Hi Everyone! Good luck on your applications to Cohort 39!
The waiting game is awful so I have decided to keep taking more courses just in case I need them for Cohort 40. The new curriculum is coming out on the 17th. My counselor has just informed me that NU will be requiring these additional classes before any student can apply to future cohorts: NSG 280, CHEM 100, CHEM 100A, SOC 350, ENG 240, MATH 215, & HTM 310. Keep in mind this is in addition to A&P I + lab, A&P II + lab, Micro + lab, Bio Stats. They must all be completed PRIOR to be able to apply. I have been told that in progress will not suffice. Also, I am not sure if these courses will be used in the GPA calculation so if anyone can add to this it would be good to know. I read above that 140 applied to Cohort 39 and there are only 50 seats, therefore there may be 90 students who would like to re-apply. I have feeling that if people don't scramble to get the newly required classes in time for the next application period, Cohort 40 may have the fewest applicants yet and Cohort 41 may have the most. These are scary thoughts so I am PRAYING LIKE A MADMAN that I am accepted into Cohort 39.
Oops. I forgot COH 317-Public Health Nutrition.
Also, I just looked up these courses. NSG 280 is a brand new course so who knows what it will cover or if it has pre-reqs? ENG 240 has two pre-reqs---ENG 101& 102. Math 215 (Alg/Trig) you need Algebra I&II. Plus, Cohort 40 only has a two month window- not three and some of these courses I can't find available until after Cohort 40 closes in mid April.

Hi everyone,
I'm also an applicant of Cohort 39. I did the essay and TEAS yesterday in RB. I'm nervous about my essay score. I'm really hoping for at least a 4! I can't wait to hear the results
