My name is Dusty, and I'm starting this topic because I haven't seen any conversations started for Cohort 60 starting October 10, 2019. If I missed a thread already made, please let me know so I can hop over to that one. If not, then please introduce yourself so we can all get to know and help each other out! I'm pretty sure I know the answer but I just want to triple check so I don't shoot myself in the foot
We can take the teas on test day and If we don't beat a previous score, we can choose to submit that other score instead, right? Taking it does not = submitting it.
I wasn't planning on it, but now i'm thinking I might. I'm going to keep my old essay score.

Hello everyone and good luck tomorrow!!! Is there is a passing point/grade for essay? Is 3.5 okay or I must score above 4? Getting nervous ? chasingsummer yes you can chose which ever score you want to use to apply.
Hey everyone i just happened across this thread. I'm from cohort 56, I want to wish everyone the best of luck tomorrow on your TEAS and essay. A bit of advice on the essay, make sure to make it pertinent to nursing regardless of the prompt you get. I got the one where it asked me to describe what my qualities were so I picked my top three and then described why those were important towards becoming a nurse. For those who get denied (which I hope none do) please don't get discouraged and don't give up. I was denied the first time I applied, the second time I was waitlisted, but eventually I got in. Good luck everyone get plenty of rest!!!
Hello everyone! Applied to cohort 60 and retook my TEAS today. I got the same score of 88 and am so nervous now! She said the applicants for this cohort is higher than it’s ever been (203) down from 223 I believe. When do we find out our essay scores? It’s my first time applying.
Hi! I am applying to the SD NU cohort 60 & my TEAS / essay date is 5/30... I almost had a heart attack en I read this thread thinking I missed my testing date but I double checked my email and it definitely says May 30th... anyone else have a different date????
Hey you guys! Hope all is well! I wanted to get your guys' feedback/opinions. Do you think that because there are approximately 200 people applying for this cohort that the overall total points to get in will go up? Or, do you think that they will be about the same as the last cohort (appx. 86 total points to get in). Let me know what you guys are thinking! I think it might be harder to get in because so many applied; but we shall see.

Hey @MommaNurse33, All of the prompts are random and everyone has different ones. My friend and I by chance got the same one, but other people said they got different prompts. If you went to the NU writing center you should be 100% fine (trust me.... lol).
I looked up past prompts and have been writing/practicing but didn’t go to the writing center. Do they have any special info or tips that help for the essay or are they there to proofread and edit your drafts?
